Féile 2018 would not be possible without the collaboration of the many groups, initiatives, volunteers and residents from throughout the Bogside, Brandywell, Creggan, Bishop Street and Fountain areas who have come to shape and manage this programme of events. We would also like to acknowledge the support of funders including Derry City & Strabane District Council Community Festivals Fund and PCSP, Housing Executive Cohesion Projectand Urban Villages. The Urban Villages Initiative is a key action within the NI Executive’s ‘Together: Building a United Community’ Strategy. It is designed to improve good relations outcomes and to help develop thriving places where there has previously been a history of deprivation and community tension. As part of the Féile 2018 Programme, the Streets Alive project, supported by the Executive’s Office Urban Villages Initiative, will fund a range of events and activities. This year-round Cultural and Festival Programme has been developed by number of community organisations in the Bogside, Bishop Street and Fountain Urban Village areas that are keen to improve relationships between and within communities.
