The cozy restaurant, with nine counter and 26 table seats, puts you in close contact with Chef Hoashi. You can ask him to select hors

d'oeuvres to accompany your first drink as well as drinks to go with whichever main dish you crave. Custom orders welcomed. Most menu items come in port i o n s g e n e ro u s enough to be shared A by two, but naturally, you can also order meals for one. Aside from steaks, which are slow-cooked over charcoal, there are plenty of other options for the consummate foodie, including dishes flavored with wine and champagne-based sauces and hearty veggie-filled fare. Bobby Judo

rom a simple cooking blog to semi-regular TV appearances, Bobby Judo has risen to become a local star. Initially attracted to Japan through his interest in Zen Buddhism, Bobby began life in Japan on the JET Program, and was based in Saga for six years. After several years teaching, he created his own cooking blog, a YouTube channel and began to push for TV roles on local networks. The rest, as they say, is history. Bobby is now a well established TV personality appearing regularly on a cooking show in Saga since 2010. His success on YouTube with over a million views is no surprise either – charmingly presented with effortless Japanese, he explores intercultural topics, such as the use of hand-gestures and why foreigners shouldn’t be praised too much for their Japanese. While Bobby acknowledges that his foreignness got his foot in the door, he hopes that soon foreigners can just be themselves on TV and not forced to be stereotyped caricatures. Opened in 2011, Hankyu’s depachika is the newest of them all. Located beneath the busy JR Hakata Station it’s within easy reach of not only commuters but also popular with visitors from around Japan. It’s earned a reputation as a great place to find many unique to Kyushu items. Check out their famous mentaiko (spicy cod roe) section, and the surprising tasty ¥100 Freshly deep-fried Mentaiko bakery. Their food Potato Chips by Calbee court area offers ramen, champon and SoftBank Hawks’ curry.

The famous Kinoshita Circus returns to Fukuoka for the first time in 25 years with amazing white lions, giraffe, zebras, elephants, a thrilling motorcycle stunt show, acrobatic flying trapeze and more! Great fun for the entire family.

For over 500 years, two teams of loincloth-clad men have braved the cold to scramble for possession of an 8kg wooden ball. Victory for the Beach Team is said to ensure a plentiful catch of fish for the coming year, while a Land Team victory brings a bountiful harvest.

木下大サーカスが25年ぶりに福岡にやってきた！珍しいホワイトライオンが登場する、迫力ある世界猛獣ショーをはじめ、キリンやシマウマ、ゾウも出演。球体の中を複数台のバイクが猛スピードで駆け抜けるスリリングなオートバイショーや、観客の頭上に張られた綱やはしごの上でのパフォーマンス、空中ブランコなど懐かしのサーカスを、六本松九大跡地で！

500年以上にわたって親しまれる博多伝統の吉凶を占う正月祭り、玉せせり。浜側と陸側に分かれた締め込み姿の筥崎宮の氏子たちが、触れると悪事災難を逃れて幸運を授かるといわれる直径28cm重さ8kgの木製の玉を巡り、本宮までの200mの間で激しい争奪戦を繰り広げます。最後に玉を奪ったのが浜側なら大漁、陸側なら豊作とさ言われている。

The artist Tohl Narita is famous for his kaiju (monsters) and special effects. For example, he created the characters and special effects for Ultraman and his influence on others has been huge. See original art and replicas of special effects shooting sets. 700 items in total.
