urope’s single currency has come of age early. The euro turned 10 on Jan. 1, a milestone for one of the most powerful symbols of European identity. It has already endured a rite of passage over the past few months, as the global financial crisis battered European markets yet failed to fluster the euro. And, like any debutante, it has its suitors: a string of countries lining up to dump their national currencies and join the euro zone. It’s a remarkable achievement for a currency whose only global rival is the U.S. dollar. The greenback has more than two centuries of history behind it. But it wasn’t until Jan. 1, 1999 that 11 E.U. countries locked their national currencies together into a fixed exchange rate. Three years later, physical coins and notes became available, replacing national cash in a massive changeover operation. The euro zone is now 15 members large and has a
combined population of about 320 million. However, many more people are directly affected by the currency, from would-be members whose money is already pegged to it, to countries like Montenegro and Kosovo, whose effective national currency is the euro.
France’s former African colonies also peg their common currency to Europe’s. That means about 500 million people rely on the euro or euro-pegged currencies. European Commission president José Manuel Barroso credits the euro for delivering lower inflation, lower interest rates and greater price stability, and helping to create 16 million jobs. More immediately, the euro is shielding
member states in this time of economic turmoil, preventing a currency crisis in addition to the credit crunch. “The euro is sheltering businesses from the exchange rate volatility, which has battered them in previous downturns,” Barroso said on Monday. “To put it simply, the euro works.” Before the euro, a financial crisis in Europe went hand in hand with currency woes: a run on weaker currencies, heavy intervention by central banks and finally a collapse of the parity system. “I’ve lived through currency devaluations, and they are fraught with anxieties,” says Hans Martens, chief executive of the European Policy Centre. “But the way the euro coped with the financial crisis was absolutely great. PURPOSE
The Word “looketh,” here in James 1:25, means, “To bend over and peer into to get a better look.” When you begin to peer into the Word of God, you’ll begin to see yourself as a person who has been healed, and made FREE! You’ll begin to see an image of health instead of sickness and pain. For example: Isaiah 53:3-5 & 1 Peter 2:24 tell us that God has already healed us. Colossians 1:13 says that God has already delivered us from the power of darkness. 2 Peter 1:3 proclaims that God has given us ALL THINGS that pertain to life, and godliness. And in Luke 10:19 Jesus Himself declares that He has given us authority over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt us. Glory to God! Are you beginning to see your reflection in the Word of total and complete healing? James 1:22-25 is telling us to look into this mirror. When we are preoccupied, and influenced by what we see in the Word of God, we will begin receiving what God has promised us, HEALING! Are you occupied with the feelings of sickness today, or are you being consumed with 1 Peter 2:24 ,which declares; “BY HIS STRIPES YE WERE HEALED.” ? Wells used it as the title of a book about a socialist, unified, one-world government. The phrase has also been linked to American presidents, including Woodrow Wilson, whose work on establishing the League of Nations pioneered the concept of international government bodies, and to the first President Bush, who used it in a 1989 speech. “A new partnership of nations has begun, and we stand today at a unique and extraordinary moment,” said Bush before a joint session of Congress. “Out of these troubled times, our fifth objective – a new world order – can emerge: A new era … in which the nations of the world, east and west, north and south, can prosper and live in harmony.” The phrase “New World Order” causes alarm for many Americans, particularly those concerned about an international governing body trumping U.S. sovereignty or those that interpret biblical prophecy to foretell the establishment of a oneworld government as key to the rise of the Antichrist. Conspiracy theorists, too, have latched on to the phrase, concerned that powerful financial or government figures are secretly plotting to rule the world.
“There is a need for a new world order,” Kissinger told PBS interviewer Charlie Rose last year, “I think that at the end of this administration, with all its turmoil, and at the beginning of the next, we might actually witness the creation of a new order – because people looking in the abyss, even in the Islamic world, have to conclude that at some point, ordered expectations must return under a different system.” As WND reported, Kissinger was also part of last year’s super-secret Bilderberg Group, an organization of powerful international elites, including government, business, academic and journalistic representatives, that has convened annually since 1954. According to sources that have penetrated the high-security meetings, the Bilderberg meetings emphasize a globalist agenda and promote the idea that the notion of national sovereignty is antiquated and regressive. CNBC’s Haines concluded the Kissinger interview by asking, “Are you confident about the people President-elect Obama has chosen to surround him?”

ENTERING INTO HIS REST “For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the Word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.” (Hebrews 4:2 )
T
he Word declares that when the Word of God is preached it becomes profitable when mixed with faith. The word “profit” here means to be useful, advantageous, to be a benefit. This means then, when the Word of God is received and mixed with faith, it becomes useful, and benefits us. In the Old Testament there was a time when the children of Israel were trying to enter into the PROMISED LAND, which was Gods rest for them! Unfortunately they did not make it. The reason; It was because of their unbelief. The Word that was preached to them did not benefit them, because they did not believe it.

And it is that same problem of sin, that is separating people from that place of rest today! In Hebrews 4:4-11 we read; “For He

POPE CHALLENGES PELOSI ON ABORTION STANCE

Brown adds that the pope could have simply shaken Pelosi’s hand and had a cordial meeting, but he embraced the opportunity instead to promote life. “He took the opportunity to point out the grave error of her ways -- and I think that does send a message to pro-abortion politicians everywhere all over the world,” she concludes. That message? “If they happen to be Catholic, they cannot support killing.”
She is also thankful that the Vatican issued the statement, going public with a politician’s responsibilities to the Word. The Associated Press reports Benedict
AP notes that several Catholic bishops in the U.S. have questioned the House Speaker’s pro-abortion stance and staunch defense of women’s “right to choose.”

pringtime in Minnesota is always a time that is welcomed. After the many months of freezing cold and snow, I just love the warm sunshine and green grass that begins to grow. And my kids love spring too. Their reason is different than mine. They love spring because they don’t have to wear a heavy winter coat anymore. They now can wear shorts! One spring morning several years ago, my daughter Katie was having a hard time getting ready for school. I remember that it was a warm spring morning. I encouraged her to wear shorts to school. But she couldn’t make up her mind and if she didn’t hurry up, she was going to miss the bus! She was in tears. After talking with Katie, I finally discovered the real reason why she was having such a hard time deciding. She told me that she didn’t want to be the only person in her class wearing shorts. Oh, Katie! She was afraid of what the other kids would think of her if she was the only one wearing shorts. Fear, yes fear.
Who do you want to trust: God or Satan? Who promised to always be with you to protect you? Who loved you so much to send His son to die for you? God did, of course! It shouldn’t surprise you, that fear is sneaky because Satan is sneaky. Stop and think for a minute about the times that you have been afraid. Maybe you "Yes God is your have been afraid of Friend. Like Katie, you may fuss over your clothes and hair because you are afraid of what other kids may think of you. Again, fear.

Jefferson’s reference to “natural rights” invoked an important legal phrase which was part of the rhetoric of that day and which reaffirmed his belief that religious liberties were inalienable rights. While the phrase “natural rights” communicated much to people then, to most citizens today those words mean
little.
By definition, “natural rights” included “that which the Books of the Law and the Gospel do contain.” That is, “natural rights” incorporated what God Himself had guaranteed to man in the Scriptures. Thus, when Jefferson assured the Baptists that by following

How long do you want to be a servant or, for lack of a better word, a slave? How long do you want to live from paycheck to paycheck? The majority of people that I speak to believe they have a money problem, and they think the way to cure it is to get more money (more money, more money, more money). The fact is, your situation is probably not a lack of income, but a lack of sense. Sense is defined as “intelligence, brains, intellect, wisdom, common sense, logic, and good judgment.” The reality is that there is no level of income you couldn’t outspend. The problem is not the need for more money as much as it is the need for discipline and control of the finances that you have. For instance, if you take a look at the average American household, you will discover that they are paying $1,200.00 in interest each year on credit cards and over $7,000.00 in interest each year on their home mortgage. The word mortgage comes from the word “mort,” which means “dead, or a dead pledge.” Most people have their home financed for 30 years. As long as it takes to pay off a home, it could kill you. If you would take the interest you are paying on your credit cards and the interest you are paying on your mortgage and invest it every month (just as if you were still paying the lenders), in less time than it would take to pay off your home, you would accumulate over one million dollars. Where Is The Money Going? To the bank! The banking business is the biggest business in America, bigger than Wal-Mart. Why? Because everyone that has a loan goes to work for the bank to pay back the loan. Everybody that is in debt is really an employee of the bank, just without the uniform and the benefits. he American Center for Law & Justice (ACLJ) is making legal game plans to combat the mislabeled “Fairness Doctrine” should it be revived. For years, the Fairness Doctrine -- which was introduced in the U.S. in 1949 and then abolished by the FCC in 1987 -- forced radio and television stations to offer differing views on various subjects, which basically squelched the talk formats. ACLJ chief counsel Jay Sekulow claims that basically amounted to censorship.

srael and Iran are liable to enter into a confrontation or a crisis sometime this year due to Tehran’s progress in its nuclear weapons program and Jerusalem’s determination to thwart it, the head of U.S. intelligence told lawmakers. In a report to the Senate Intelligence Committee on the potential threats as foreseen by the 16 intelligence arms of the United States, Dennis Blair said that Hezbollah, the Lebanese-based Shi’ite group which is backed by Iran, has beefed up its weapons arsenal in preparation for another round of fighting with Israel. Blair said Hezbollah presents a formidable threat to U.S. interests, particularly if the organization feels Washington directly threatens Iran or acts against the group’s targets, infrastructure, and leadership. According to the intelligence assessment, Fatah has been weakened and is likely to enter Palestinian Authority elections mired in disunity and factionalism. Blair added that a key challenge for the new Obama administration will be strengthening the moderates in the Arab world, in particular among the Palestinians, as well as the possible renewal of IsraeliPalestinian peace talks. The task is even more daunting against the
backdrop of the recent fighting in Gaza, which is likely to diminish the chances of peace in the region. So long as Hamas rules Gaza and Hezbollah solidifies its hold on southern Lebanon, an Israel-Palestinian agreement becomes more difficult to reach, Blair said. Nonetheless, the former admiral recommended that the U.S. invest greater effort in advancing the peace process so as to create opportunities for the U.S. to engage in dialogue with wide swaths of the Arab public, particularly those with nationalistic and Islamic tendencies. Blair noted that North Korea, which aided Syria in the construction of a nuclear reactor which was destroyed by Israel, is likely to resume exporting nuclear technology to a number of countries. The intelligence chief added that Syrian President Bashar Assad wisely managed to cement his control over the country by relying on the traditional levers of power which he inherited from his late father, Hafez Assad. "If coal takes millions and millions of years of heat and pressure to form, how is it possible that creationists are teaching that the earth is only a few thousand years old?” ..... Research has been done .... by independent scientists, in order to answer such questions. The evidence actually shows that coal does not take millions of years to form, as is commonly asserted. In fact, the formation of coal has been proven to be a rapid process that can be duplicated in modern laboratories in a matter of days - or even hours. II. Decay Ratios When the ratio of uranium decay to its decay product (lead) is analyzed, the conclusion is drawn that all the logs within the various geologic formations were buried at the same time. The high lead-to-uranium ratios admit the possibility that both the initial uranium infiltration and the coalification could possibly have occurred within the past several thousand years. III. Polystrate Fossils The presence of “polystrate” trees (trees petrified or coalified in an upright position) point to a rapid coalification process. One of the most commonly known polystrate trees is found at Katherine Hill Bay, Australia. This fossilized tree can be seen extending over twelve feet, through several sedimentary layers. According to evolutionary theory the different sedimentary layers took hundreds of thousands of years to accumulate. However, we know this is impossible since the tree would have decomposed long before the sediments would have had time to accumulate. Rather, this tree is testimony to the catastrophic and rapid burial that must have taken place. IV. Unsullied Deposits Finally, coal seams such as those found in the Powder River Basin of Gillette, Wyoming, ranging from 150 to 200 feet in depth, point to a rapid coalification process. “These coal seams run remarkably thick and unsullied by other material. Usually, unwanted sediments, such as clay, washes over a deposit before coal seams can get very thick. This leaves scientists with the baffling question of how the seams get so massive and still remain undiluted by influxes of clay and other impurities before they thicken.” Conclusion The answer can be found in the Biblical account of Noah’s Flood. The Biblical description of the fountains of the great deep breaking up gives strong reference to volcanic activity in the pre-Flood basins.5 This would have provided several of the key factors need for the production of coal, along with an explanation of how the process could have occurred at such a rapid pace. Although the coalification process has been used in the past to support theories of an aged universe, research done by leading creation scientists reveals that this process actually supports creation teachings of a young Earth. Physical evidence demonstrates that the coalification process must have occurred rapidly, rather than over vast time periods.

pro-life presentation in Canada met stiff opposition from pro-abortion students.
Jose Ruba, co-founder of the Canadian Centre for Bio-Ethical Reform, was speaking at St. Mary’s University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, when pro-abortion students disrupted the meeting with shouting and chanting. He says their rant continued for about 45 minutes, until university officials arrived. “They were arguing that the university would look bad if their own students were arrested at a public lecture,” Ruba explains. “And so they shut down the presentation rather than protesters, and we moved off to private property, which was a church nearby.” He remembers what protesters were yelling.
“They branded the pro-life position as hate speech, as hateful,” he recalls. “They said that because we believe that abortion kills babies, therefore we must hate the women who have abortions, even though many women in the pro-life movement were people who have had abortions before.” Ruba’s organization delivers numerous pro-life presentations on college campuses, which he says will continue despite the recent interruption. “I think as well it’s not necessarily a bad thing when the other side shows just how extreme they are,” he notes. In addition, Ruba believes there is a growing need to defend the life of the pre-born.
