Welcome to the Finger Lakes Region of Upstate New York!

If you’ve been here before or are looking to explore the region for the first time the Finger Lakes region has so much to see, do, and explore that we wouldn’t be more glad you’re here and have this travel guide to help you traverse the region!

The Finger Lakes Region covers 9,000 square miles reaching just outside the eastern and western borders of Rochester and Syracuse all the way from Lake Ontario to the Pennsylvania border. The Finger Lakes region encompasses 14 counties and 11 unique lakes with so much to see and do both on and off the water! A variety of accommodation options, great dining, incredible shopping, stunning natural beauty and exciting outdoor fun awaits you.

The guide is segmented into color-coded sections to help you find your way around the region:

Begin your journey by choosing from five distinctly beautiful regions of the Finger Lakes (Central, Northeast, Northwest, Southeast and Southwest). This guide features grids detailing partner lodging options for each, with options including campgrounds, hotels/motels, vacation rentals and more. Easily find the amenities that best suits your personal needs and desired trip style within the grids.

What to do

Find attractions and activities nearby your chosen lodging options in the listings following the accommodation grids of each respective region. Do you love the great outdoors and dream of hiking, photographing a waterfall, and a leisurely picnic lakeside? Want to explore historical and cultural sites, new wineries, breweries, distilleries, or hard cider producers? Do you enjoy hunting for unique shops, antiques, or a special event during your stay? Are you a serious foodie looking for farm-to-table or hyper-local culinary creations? Then the Finger Lakes is an ideal destination for you. Check our easy-to-follow listings to begin building your perfect vacation itinerary.

Explore our communities

After you’ve selected the community that will serve as home-base for your stay and found the activities you don’t want to miss, continue on to the Directory by Town section in the back of the guide to find additional information about Shopping, Attractions, Museums, Wineries, Breweries and so much more complete with business address, phone number, website and a short description to give you a little more detail about the business and its services before you arrive. This is a great way to branch out and find unique experiences that may be off the beaten path.
