Vyjayanthi NV Co-Editor It matters not that we are in NIT Trichy, in the middle of nowhere. We will still be propelled by the forces that are shifting the warp and weft of the globe. A lot has been going on in the world. The Chinese market crashed, Russia and America are actively trying to neutralize ISIS and the race to head the most powerful nation is on. Much has happened and more is yet to happen. Slowly but surely the fabric of our world is changing. Life is one big domino effect. The Syrian crisis resulted in the Europe immigration crisis. This in turn has sparked debates about the coexistence of various cultures in geographical proximity. People are grappling with their ethnic identity while trying to adapt to their resident countries. Others are borrowing from foreign cultures while living in their motherlands. As Indians, we feel the changes that are plaguing the rest of the world in a slower manner. We too are entering a period of cultural revision. Isolated incidents that occur while enforcing religious beliefs provide the public an opportunity to point fingers at even the innocent. Courage is miraculously present as long as the bashing is done on the Internet. The tensions between the Congress and the BJP are rising. The masses are demanding that results be delivered by their elected representatives. The economy is said to be experiencing a turnaround. I recently read that India experienced an onion crisis. As students we are also being transformed. First years are testing their new found freedom. Second years are involving themselves more in college activities. Third years are learning to cope with their heavy course load. Fourth years are thinking of their uncertain future. Feeds is trying to grow its content-base while facing the caustic eye of the public. As I type out this editorial for Feeds’ second issue of the academic year, I wonder how the world shall be five years down the lane. There are many unimaginable events taking place all around the world right now. The consequences of these actions might be devastating. It is impossible to not be affected even if we try our hardest to stay uninvolved. After all, what can we do except be tugged along with the wind of change?
