St. Aubin’s Fort

Built in the 1540s St. Aubin’s Fort stands behind the beautiful harbour as protection to the bay during the war. You can explore the fort by walking across the beach at low tide, but be sure to check when the tide is due to turn as you won’t want to get stuck.

Grosnez Castle

This spectacularly located headland ruin is thought to date from the 14th century. To the south is Le Pinacle, a 200ft (60m) high rock, which featured as an object of worship and a ceremonial site for thousands of years.

La Corbière Lighthouse

The lighthouse situated on the south west corner of the island, was the first concrete lighthouse in the world. Surrounded by WW2 monuments there are some fantastic guided walks that also take you around this special landmark.

St. Matthew's Glass Church

This beautiful church is totally unique to Jersey. The glass work including the font, altar rail, cross and pillars, was created by Rene Lalique of Paris and is considered to be amongst his greatest achievements.

Les Landes

Les Landes is Jerseys largest single expanse of maritime heathland covering 160 hectares and bound by 3km of high granite cliffs. It is designated as an SSI for its landscape, wildlife, archaeology and geological features.

The White House

Also known as the Le Don Hilton, the 18th-century guard house and powder magazine that sits on the seawall. Its whitewashed walls and vault give it a distinctive appearance making it an informal daymark for sailors and surfers. Can be rented for events.

Jersey Wetland Centre

Perfectly situated overlooking St. Ouen's Pond, the centre gives the opportunity to not only view the interesting and diverse bird life found at La Mare au Seigneur, but to learn about the reserves significance to wildlife and the rich history of the area.

Le Noir Pré

Often known as ‘The Orchid Field’, this unique site consists of two distinct meadows; Le Noir Pré and Le Cios du Seigneur near to the Wetland Centre. The site is one of the last remaining strongholds of the Jersey Orchid. Flowers in May / June.

Les Minquiers & Écréhous

The Minquiers and Écréhous are two groups of beautiful unihabited islands and rocks off Jersey. It is best to go by RIB as then you can go right onshore onto the sand banks that uncover at low tide. See ‘Off Island’ Section.

Les Blanches Banques

Sat behind St. Ouen’s Bay, Les Blanche Banques (sand dunes) can also be accessed from the fields at Les Quennevais. Designated an SSI in 1996, the dunes are wild and beautiful, they offer an other worldly walking environment where dogs can run and you can tumble down the sand.

The Five Mile Road

Driving down the winding hills at either end gives a breathtaking view of St. Ouen’s Bay and the drive along the five mile road from end to end is one of the most picturesque beach drives around. A mecca for surfers and beach lovers. Stop at a café and suck in the fresh air!

Val de la Mare Arboretum

One of Britain’s most unique collection of trees in an arboretum called The Forgotten Forest planted in the 1970s. See an eclectic collection of mature trees from North American Maples and Oaks to Australasian Eucalyptus and the giant Californian Redwood.

Dolmens of Jersey

Jersey has a large number of Neolithic dolmen and passage graves, many of which are free to access. They range over a wide period, from around 4800 BC to 2250 BC. Consult Jersey Heritage to learn more about these historic burial groups.

Battery Lothringen

Battery Lothringen was the only German Naval batterie in Jersey. In the 90's the CI Occupation Society recovered one of the batteries gun barrels, which were thrown off the cliffs at the end of the war and this is on display in Gun emplacement Number One.

Howard Davis Park

One of the most appealing of Jersey’s public gardens, the grounds contain colourful displays of trees and plants that flourish in the mild climate. The park is the location of a World War II cemetery and also hosts events throughout spring and summer including movies in the park.

St. Brelade’s Church

This beautiful church and graveyard date back to Norman times and the adjacent Fisherman’s Chapel is thought to have been built in the 12th Century with 14th and 15th century murals. It’s worth a visit for its views across St. Brelade’s Bay alone.
