Born and bred in Jersey, I have been extremely fortunate to have lived, worked and enjoyed all that is “Jersey” for over 50 years. Coming into our long summer season, the island is stunning in full bloom, with the trees in leaf and the summer flowers blooming attracting the busy bees. We are enjoying air temperatures over 20 degrees and sea temperatures over 16 degrees and rising which underpins our “outdoor life” in Jersey.

Starting a day with an early family walk and dip in the sea on Gorey beach (with the dog of course), a breakfast bap (and doggy sausage) at Rhonas on the slip, then onto the Valley Adventure Centre to enjoy an adventurous activity morning with all the family, we then stop off at the Le Braye Café for some well-earned lunch. The activities continue into the afternoon, with an amazing rib trip to the Minquiers from the St. Helier harbour and back (passing through a large pod of dolphins on the way there) we are ready for our evening meal at El Tico overlooking the stunning St. Ouen’s Bay and sunset – what more can you ask for? With amazing local attractions like Jersey Zoo, The Jersey War Tunnels, La Mare Vineyard, aMaizin! Maze and all the Jersey Heritage sites and so much more, there is plenty to keep everyone happy for weeks.

The island has so much to offer for the more adventurous, and it is a great time of year to walk on the northern cliff paths from bay to bay, taking in the stunning scenery of the coastline, sea, French coast and other Channel Islands or maybe jump on an EVie Hire Bike and ride on some of our large network of amazing “Green Lanes” where the speed limit has been restricted to just 15mph.

With restaurants a plenty and so many beautiful beaches to choose from, the island is truly a jewel in the crown.
