NAP SACC 136 of 200 projected QSRC child care providers trained in NAP SACC (68% accomplishment) 27 of 50 projected QSRC child care sites enrolled in NAP SACC (54% accomplishment) 7 of 35 projected QSRC child care sites are NAP SACC certified (20% accomplishment)
25 of 50 projected families have been served (50% of accomplishment) 29 more minutes read per day by participating families
Raising a Reader 1,308 children received the Raising a Reader program at targeted school sites, on a monthly basis (98.6% accomplishment) In an effort to continue to provide literacy support to families during COVID-19, UWD began weekly Bedtime Stories, where a volunteer reads a children’s book each night at 7:30 p.m. through a live Facebook feed.

Diaper Kit Program Partnering with Commission funded agencies/programs for distribution, tracking, and reporting of diaper kits to families currently participating in Commission funded initiatives like Home Visitation, HealthySteps, LENA & Quality Early Learning providers. 1,580 diaper kits provided to funded agencies for distribution to families
Each diaper kit contains 80-100 diapers and 200 wipes

GOAL 4 COUNTYWIDE IMPACT
Work with early childhood stakeholders, including state and county agencies, local education agencies, the child care planning council, institutions of higher education, and elected officials to strengthen countywide efforts to create a comprehensive, integrated early childhood system to improve outcomes for children prenatal through age 5 and their families.

SUCCESS STORY University of California, Riverside-School of Medicine Students at UCR School of Medicine, CalMed, and Loma Linda have teamed up to offer support to the community during the COVID-19 crisis. Over 80 students have engaged in several activities including: • Food donations, grocery deliveries, public health information, emergency child care, and resource dissemination • Advocacy and policy recommendations for local and state public officials, including petitions, issue related calls/emails, and an “advocacy of the day” messaging campaign • Soliciting donations for hygiene and medical supply drives, which resulted in 30,000 masks to area providers • Creating a telemedicine/public health information call line, through RUHS, for vulnerable populations in the Inland Empire • Developing as well as presenting a virtual empowerment and enrichment curriculum for school-aged children of health providers “This crisis has shown us what we already knew — that health is collective,” said fourth-year UCR medical student Anum Iqbal. “While we are not yet at the stage in our careers to help on the front lines, we are grateful to be of service to our community through these volunteering, crowdfunding, and advocacy efforts.”
