RESISTANCE TO ANTIBOTICS

A major thread to public health... Winter is a time for coughs and colds, and it is probably the fact that everyone stays in more, huddled together, that makes these germs spread so easily. The doctors’ surgeries are fuller and busier at this time of year. So here are two top tips as recommended by Health Protection Agency. If you think about these when you are feeling rough and snotty, you won’t need to sit around in a doctor’s waiting room with all those other sniffing, coughing, and feverish patients. 1. Coughs and colds nearly always get better on their own. Surprisingly the recent advertising campaign informing people that coughs that have lasted three weeks should make you go to the doctor, seems to have driven home the message that many coughs do last up to three weeks and up ‘til then they don’t need treating.

LoveBallet dancers Dance their way to success...

A fantastic & well deserved success story for LoveBallet Dancers who recently took their Ballet & Tap examinations at the end of October 2011. 100% pass rate shone through the dance studio as they proudly received their results. The exams took place at the Grange Hall in Southam on Sunday 31st October with children as young as 4 years and upwards to Grade 3 Ballet. Everybody worked very hard in the months leading up to the exams so their success was well deserved. Principal Lorraine Day said “the girls and boys did so very well in their exams, we received some fantastic promising remarks from the examiner who travelled from London to come and examine them, I’m so proud of them all. It’s a wonderful experience for them and really boosts their self esteem and self confidence.” So another successful year for LoveBallet Dance Company, with

2012 proving to be another busy one as we work towards exams in the Spring (which will involve Gymnastic, Modern and Street Dance exams as well as Ballet and Tap). We will also be working towards the next LoveBallet Show which will be the LoveBallet Olympics in July, an exciting opportunity for everyone to shine on stage and show off their skills as budding dancers. We will also be offering expanding our genre of classes and offering Modern Jazz and TheatreCraft from 2012 on Wednesday evenings at Upper Boddington, these classes offer a wide range of rhythms and musical styles, demonstrating emotion through dance, building flexibility and strength and they embrace the exciting dance form that is Musical Theatre. The following ten tips show how you can achieve results and get a great return on your investment. 1. Set regular advertising objectives or goals – otherwise how will you know whether advertising is working for you or not? 2. Know your audience. Ensure that where you are advertising is a perfect fit for your target market. 3. As advertising is not usually your sole method of promotion, make sure that the logo, colours, words, messages and images used, are consistent with the rest of your business communications. 4. Readers are short of time and attention, so use less words, simple language, easy to read fonts and have a clear and concise layout – i.e. bullet points rather than long sentences or paragraphs. 5. Involve the reader – use “you”, “your” and “yours”. Describe what your business does for the customer (benefits not features), in order to help them to visualise their own personal involvement.

7. Your main message must be prominent, understandable and should contain your business or brand name. It must also emphasise what makes your offering special or unique, as well as being credible and believable. Use relevant case studies or testimonials to demonstrate this. 8. Tell the reader what you want them to do as a result of reading your advert. Ensure that your call to action
