The Muse project began simply as a way for me to practice portraiture on the closest subjects I had available. The first two beautiful women, Muse I and Muse II, were gracious enough to allow me to experiment with portrait ideas in an effort to further my craft of photography. These experiments led to more concepts and ideas. This also led to adding more models to my practice. Adding more models to the team has been easy as I have the great fortune to be in the company of some very beautiful women! At this point, I had given both the models and the project the title of Muse. Each ‘muse’ gave me different inspiration in finding their personality through the viewfinder and the experience has been and continues to be great. This book is merely a sample of the entire project. I hope you enjoy! EJ Drake e drake photography

III

What about the project do you find interesting? “I'll go back to question 1 on this; all of the Muses have different comfort zones, styles and thoughts on what they want to do. So we can all bring some of ourselves and our thoughts to each different project/session.

How do you feel about the project? I think it's an interesting and fun concept. We are all amazing, beautiful women, and we all photograph differently. I think it's easy to use a similar 'concept' with us all, but make the pictures all fit our personalities and styles. What brought you to the project? I think he is an amazing and gifted photographer, and I wanted to help him in any way I could! Plus, getting dolled up once in awhile and getting my photo taken is fun.

What is your favorite image so far and why? “My favorite image has to be the one where I'm in on the bed, and all you can see is my ring finger on my hair. I'm laying down and he took it from above I think? It's just a different photo, and it's not something I've personally seen before. Plus it shows my Engagement ring, which symbolizes the future for myself and fiancé.” Which session/concept have enjoyed the most so far? “I'd have to say our most recent one. I had a blast taking some of the boudoir photos, as well as the ridiculous holiday ones. And I love that even though I'm a goofball and put on those Antlers, he went with it and we made it work!”

IV

What about the project do you find interesting? “That there are so many different views and angles in photography and women.” What is your favorite image so far and why? “My favorite image so far is the one when I am biting on my glasses with a vest on.”

How do you feel about the project? “I love the project. It is a honest view of a women in so many different forms since everyone in different.” What brought you to the project? “The fact that art is insightful and creative. It is nice to be able to have a release. A different side of you is shown in every picture.”

Which session/concept have enjoyed the most so far? “The session by the river was my favorite so far. I love to be outside. It was very peaceful and beautiful that day by the river.
