BAD STATE City’s drainage system needs a great deal of intervention: ASU

Davao City’s drainage system needs a lot of interventions.

That is the straightforward statement of the city government’s Ancillary Services Unit (ASU).

Some areas in Davao City have experienced flooding due to the recent heavy rains such as Sasa, Damosa in Lanang, Buhangin, and MacArthur Highway.

According to ASU head Paul Bermejo, during their cleaning, they found out that the drainage systems in the flooded areas were already silted.

“Gipang-open namo ug ginakuhaan ug mga hugaw sa ilalom. Silted na daan ang atong mga kanal. Daghan nami nakuha na basura,” Bermejo said over Davao City Disaster Radio (DCDR) on Friday.
