BOC presses for modernization to improve trade with Europe

The Bureau of Customs (BOC) on Monday highlighted efforts to modernize the sector to boost trade and investment opportunities with Europe.

In a statement, the BOC said it conducted a collaboration meeting with the European Union-ASEAN Business Council and the European Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines last May 23.

“This collaboration represents a significant milestone in our ef- forts to strengthen economic ties with European businesses,” BOC Commissioner Bienvenido Rubio said.

Rubio noted that the meeting highlighted both parties’ support for the “resumption of Free Trade Agreement (FTA) negotiations between the Philippines and the European Union.”
