Guanajuato has 46 municipalities , has a population of 171 709 inhabitants , the history goes back to pre-Columbian era. Main tourist center of the region, declared Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO 20 years ago, is one of the main jewels of colonial Mexico. The products that are traded are those of the footwear industry, tannery, agribusiness, textiles, petroleum and agricultural products.

Alhóndiga de Granaditas…… Is a building in the city of Guanajuato, Mexico, in the late eighteenth century, in times of the Viceroyalty, used at first as a warehouse and grain trade. It was one of the leading and first stage of the struggle for independence from Mexico, as during the attack by the rebel army to the city of Guanajuato.


Mum m Mummies of Guanajuato are naturally mummified bodies buried mostly during a cholera outbreak in Guanajuato, Mexico, in 1833, now converted into one of the biggest tourist attractions in the Mexican state displayed in the "Museum of the Mummies of Guanajuato".

There are currently over one hundred mummies are inventory of the museum. It has a thematic exhibition that annually attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors.

“Cervantino� The International Cervantes Festival (FIC), popularly known as "Cervantino", is held every year in the city of Guanajuato, located in the central United Mexican States. The festival started in the mid-twentieth century, when the starters still represented by Miguel de Cervantes in the streets of different cities of Guanajuato. Since then it has grown to be one of the four largest festivals of its kind in the world. The F.I.C. a member of the European Festivals Association and the Asian Association of Theatre Festivals.


The “Callojeneada” “Callejonear”, is a custom that became tradition in recent times, is to walk through the streets and alleys of the city of Guanajuato, with “estudiantinas”. They are an attraction for visitors thanks to the character called “Tuno” delivering his joy and humor, transporting you to a world of magic and wonder on the splendid frame of the city, through its romantic music, jovial and mischievous.

“Estudiantinas” In late 1962 a group of enthusiastic young “estudiantinas” discovered the music of Spanish origin, and was organized to sing. Soon, with the support of the university authorities was formed Estudiantina University of Guanajuato, which debuted on April 13, 1963. To date Guanajuato has a large number of estudiantinas to act on callejoneadas, auditions and serenades.

Transportation in Guanajuato. Moving in Guanajuato, is quite simple and will not generate any problems. The town is very quiet and safe, so you can walk with absolute calmness and serenity through the center of the city. If you do not want to walk, opt for public transport. The most economic and popular are the buses, here called trucks, which follow a predetermined path. As for taxis, in the bus station find white painted units in the center, green cars.
