UWI CAVE HILL CAMPUS CELEBRATES ITS FIFTIETH ANNIVERSARY ! In the academic year 2012/2013 The University of the West Indies at Cave Hill marks 50 years of service to the people of the Caribbean and beyond. The vision of the Prime Minister of Barbados, the RT Excellent Errol Barrow and his colleagues, and the leadership of the UWI has been largely actualised, as the Cave Hill Campus continues to contribute considerably to national and regional development and transformation. Now the most regional of Caribbean campuses with a vibrant international dimension, Cave Hill's mission is to drive the modernisation process of its stakeholders as they seek greater competitiveness and sustainability. We take this opportunity to thank all our communities and partners who have made this contribution possible, as together we imagine an even greater future.

Anniversary Lecture Series

EBCCI STARTS CINEMA CLUB! The EBCCI as the Creative Arts Hub of the Cave Hill Campus aims to engage and celebrate the creativity of our students and Barbadians alike through the arts. This year as we celebrate our 5th and the Campus’ 50th we launch our EBCCI Cinema Club. The aim of the EBCCI Cinema Club, our tentative name, is to provide for persons in our community to have the opportunity to see and discuss interesting, enjoyable and thought provoking short and feature films from our up and coming student greats registered at the EBCCI and some of the masterful films we are aspiring to create some you may know, others you will come to love! At our bi weekly screenings, patrons will be able to see some of the films lecturers feel you shouldn’t miss and we challenge you to come and find out why those films are considered important to any filmmaker, buff or connoisseur. As we launch this new initiative, not only will you have the opportunity to give us a name, but there will be opportunities for you to select films and lead discussions. This semester’s Film Curator is Film Lecturer Ms. Tania Hoser. The Film Club screenings start Wednesday February 13th 2013 at 8p.m. with a film by BFA Student Rotchelle Gibbons and the Valentine’s special; The Invention of Lying (2009). It is difficult to select a film for the night before Valentine’s Day but this sly, funny, thought provoking and romantic film fits the bill perfectly, written by Matthew Robinson and Ricky Gervais and Starring Ricky Gervais. Thanks Tania!
