On June 10, 2018, more than 200 guests experienced the incredible history and exciting future of 1000 GRAND by WINDSOR at the official opening of DTLA LIFE’s newest office space. The fabulous event featured a DJ, delicious food courtesy of Loit and Barcito, rosé courtesy of Bodvár and countless other downtown Los Angeles specialty items!

The building is a conversation starter featuring historical elements such as reclaimed brick and a preserved mural from the famous 1910 Myron’s Ballroom that used to occupy the site. Myrna Myron, a former chorus girl who founded Myron’s Ballroom, was an astute entrepreneur. She became a millionaire many times over by buying up parking lots, coffee shops and making other investments. “She wanted to be No.1 at anything she did,” her son said. The ballroom, though, was her proudest accomplishment. It became a magnet for Hollywood’s biggest stars, including Mae West and Rudolph Valentino, who was said to have charged $100 a dance there. Decades later in the 1908’s, Myron’s became home of Chippendale’s, the male strip joint that drew hordes of women, and Vertigo, one of the first New York-style clubs that catered to Los Angeles’ elite.
