EFFECT

EFFECT

An exuberant head-rush is trailed by a feeling of lightness in the limbs. The energetic, is trailed by a relaxing tranquility.

Effects of this product can last all day so it’s perfect for those wanting a sustained high without having to smoke every couple hours. It can be intense initially, causing introspection and creative insight. A couple hours and snacks later what remains is total relaxation of body and mind with a fully intact desire to socialize and play.

MEDICAL BENEFITS

GENETICS This tender strain, worthy of the King himself, owes luxuriant looks and complex flavor to a heady combination of tasty west coast Heavy Duty Fruity, and Afgoo, a renowned indica. No one should ever step on these Blue Suede shoes.

AROMA This pungent strain wiggles its aromatic hips in a way that would be offensive to a 1950’s television audience. Citrus overpowered by a sharp pine with an overtone of new leather completes the remaining component of the origin of this strain’s unique name.

Definitely won’t be cruel to medical users. Analgesic properties punctuate its potential as a sleep aid and antidepressant.

LOOKS And it’s one for the money, two bowls for the show! This dazzling bud sparkles in the light with tightly intertwining leaves, covered in translucent shimmering trichomes. A noticeable light bluish hue throughout inspires this strain’s title.

FLAVOR You’ll be all shook up over this dynamic and unusual tasting strain. BSS offers a full range of flavors, from sweet minty diesel on the first draw, to mellow pine on the exhale.

Spot’s Classic Brownie

A Timeless Tradition Reborn Provided by Green Nugget

OF THE herb infused treats concocted by man, none have reached the height of fame achieved by the cannabis brownie. By the mid 1970’s this popular treat had become a pop culture icon in its own right. Every groovy chick or far-out dude seemed to have

GENETICS The Mango OG strain used in this incredibly potent concentrate has legendary intoxicating characteristics. Its indica origins foster a high THC to CBD ratio, allowing the concentrate to achieve an astonishing level of THC purity.

AROMA A single whiff of this tasty treat is an uplifting experience in itself. Fresh citrus and bakery sweetness mingle, conjuring images of tart and tender lemon-bars. You won’t know whether to load it in your dabrig or crumble it over a cake.

MEDICAL BENEFITS The potential for medical use with a product this pure is staggering. It is an effective reliever of pain, stress and depression as well as appetite stimulant.

LOOKS A rich deep yellow, this resembles seafoam candy in looks and texture, closely matching its honeycomb like texture. Pieces are firm, but lightweight and slightly brittle.

FLAVOR Upon inhale one becomes engulfed by mango sweetness with a hint of mint and pine. A slow, cough-free exhale (which will be easily achieved by experienced dabbers) reveals a satisfyingly sour citrus that refreshes you as it passes your lips.

their own recipe, varying chaotically in flavor and potency. After the first bite of Spot’s Classic Brownie it’s obvious we’ve evolved the process by light years since then. Today’s fudgy delight is more consistently scrumptious, with producers taking the ‘living

on the edge’ equation out edibles with precise dosing techniques. Homemade cannabutter used in this traditional edible manages to be potent, without overpowering the classic brownie flavor responsible for enticing new edible users for over half a century.

3 Green Thumbs It’s Patients First in Cheney

HENEY IS known for its rural, farm community and

somewhat conservative ideals. Introducing cannabis into areas with these social dynamics truly demands the professional atmosphere found at 3 Green Thumbs. Their professional clinic-like waiting room gives a clean and comfortable first impression, not unlike a doctor’s office. The tidy, professional look is comforting for people who need cannabis for their health, but may be hesitant and scared of the unknown. Visitor’s appreciation for what Michael has done with the store is evident. An individual needing cannabis for the plant’s medicinal properties will find plenty to choose from here, and prices are nearly too good to be true for non-members. Meeting the dispensary’s enthusiastic owners, Michael Schofield and Dennis Turner, we got the vibe that none of his 700 regular clients ever have a long wait. His uncanny loyalty to his current customers, many of whom he regards as family, is palatable, and his care for their needs far outweighs his desire for profits. His goal is to eventually reconcile both rec and medical methods of cannabis distribution within his store. To further explain, Cheney is a college town, home to Eastern Washington University, an institution steeped in liberal arts and attended by a vast multitude of cannabis loving twenty-somethings. The potential for 3 Green Thumbs to profit from the sale of cannabis to non-medical users here is simply too great to ignore. Meticulous attention to medicinal properties and potency is much appreciated by the patrons at 3 Green Thumbs. Placing emphasis on customer care and professionalism, Schofield plans to keep the medically focused philosophy of his store alive going forward, while he also caters to a new and growing breed of people enjoying cannabis just for fun.

Recreational Hits the River City

HE WINDS of change blew fat hits in Spokane’s

direction when Washington’s I-502 went into effect last year, legalizing the sale of cannabis for recreation, and by now, just about everyone in town has gotten a whiff. Contrary to popular belief, Spokane’s love affair for the herb was apparent long before retail stores appeared. Head shops could be found in just about every neighborhood, with customers and proprietors laughingly referring to the merchandise as ‘tobacco products.’ Medical cannabis has also had a firm hold in the city ever since it became legal back in 1998. While many patients of the long established medical cannabis system have bemoaned the arrival retail outlets, many citizens of Spokane have hailed it as a breath of fresh, albeit skunky air that is reinvigorated small business and the state’s economy as well. The state of retail cannabis distribution in Spokane has followed statewide patterns closely. Last year, common issues like shortage of product, as well as high prices, plagued the young industry and cast a sizeable shadow of a doubt over the prospect of doing good business. Today there are about twenty retail stores in Spokane, all of which stay well stocked, to satisfy the city’s insatiable cannabis appetite. Competition among these stores has helped to keep prices low. Finding a ten-dollar gram in a retail store was impossible a year ago; today, shops regularly advertise sales that meet and in some cases beat street prices. The gram-joint for $10 dollars is a mainstay for many stores and an understandably popular product for Spokane’s abundant on-the-go cannabis enthusiasts. The stores have become community hubs and hangouts for Spokane, some, like the increasingly popular Cinder, are full service cafés as well as retail stores offering a relaxed atmosphere to purchase and discuss cannabis over a steaming cup of coffee. The taxation

of these shops is heavy, but that fact has not impeded their growth and success over the last year. Shops are flourishing, and the people of Spokane love them; everyone seems to have found their favorite shop and loves to discuss why it’s so special to them. While this open, honest and, dare I say, healthy cannabis culture flourishes in Spokane, the tax revenue raked in by the state has nearly doubled projected figures. The fun, and financially fruitful results of I-502 are almost impossible to disparage; but its effect upon the longer established medical cannabis sector is still controversial. Despite initial fears, medical cannabis distribution continues under I-502. By serving a niche population of patients outside of retail demographic, medical cannabis remains a critical component of Spokane’s green culture. The long-standing relationships between patients and medical dispensaries here are strong and unshakable by the force of retail cannabis. The individuals working in medical cannabis dispensaries see their clients at their worst, and pride themselves in supplying a medicinal option that improves their lives. It will be interesting to see how the medical and retail arenas will evolve together in Spokane. Up and coming retail stores could likely benefit from the knowledge amassed by the much older industry of medical cannabis and its focus on care for their clientele. It is wonderful to see marijuana laws finally reflecting the will of the people in Spokane. For the last year I-502 has helped create a safe and sophisticated cannabis community in the city. Negative stereotypes surrounding the plant’s consumption are finally dissolving, as people see the industrious nature of the retail stores and the intense appreciation customers have, who seem to come from every sort of social and economic demographic.
