Bombay Sapphire’s Reveletion, es una fabulosa colección de 5 botellas de lujo repletas del exquisito sabor del gin, cada botella finamente confeccionada con cristal de Baccarat, hermosos diamantes y zafiros. Destapar un frasco de estos es una experiencia particular que logra conquistar los gustos más exclusivos. Los responsables de esta obra de arte fueron: el divo del diseño Karim Rashid y la joyeria más antigua del mundo, Garrard.

Al comprar una botella de estas recibes suministro gratis de la ginebra Bombay Sapphire’s por todo un año. Y no es para menos, pues cada botella tiene un costo de 200,000 dólares, es decir, que quienes compren la colección completa solo tiene que pagar la “módica” suma de un millón de dólares.

El gin es un aguardiente derivado del genever holandés. Su graduación alcohólica varía entre 43 y 47 grados. Se obtiene por destilación de la cebada, rectificado con bayas de enebro y aromatizado con cardamomo, angélica y otras hierbas que le brindan su aroma característico. Sportsman’s Paradise Barcaza-hotel

En República Dominica se construye una grandiosa Barcaza-hotel concebida con todos los atractivos de la ingeniería naval contemporánea.

La Sportsman’s Paradise está siendo desarrollada en Bahía las Calderas, Baní, por la empresa constructora y reparadora naval, Ciramar International Trading Co., Ltd. Un exclusivo hotel flotante, cinco estrellas, dirigido especialmente a pescadores, con todas las aplicaciones tecnológicas de punta y un completo diseño capaz de satisfacer los más exigentes gustos.

Esta barcaza tuvo su llegada a los Astilleros Navales de Bahía las Calderas en el año 2005, su historia tiene lugar en el Ejército Norteamericano, donde había sido utilizada como un hospital móvil. Desde entonces, ha sido sometida a grandes cambios de diseño para obtener la barcaza-hotel Sportsman’s Paradise.

El proyecto está a cargo del ingeniero Luís Inoa. La Sportsman’s Paradise dispondrá de 22 habitaciones divididas en 14 confortables, 6 de lujo y 2 presidenciales, todas con una majestuosa y vanguardista decoración. También tendrá un gran casino, piscinas, restaurantes, bar al aire libre, área de recreación, helipuertos, embarcadero y botes de pesca.

Tiene una medida de 370 pies de eslora, 85 de manga, 24 pies de altura y 12 pies máximo de flotación cuando esté bajo carga.

A partir de su funcionamiento operará desde el Golfo de México frente a las costas de los Estados Unidos a más de 120 millas náuticas.

This barcaza had its arrival to the Bahia Las Calderas Naval Shipyards in 2005. It originates from the American Armed Forces, where it had been used as a floating hospital. In charge of he project is engineer Luis Inoa. The sportsman’s paradise will have 22 rooms, divided in 14 comfortable, 6 luxury and 2 presidential appartements, all with a majestic and avant-garde

decoration. It will also have a Gran Casino, swimming pools, restaurants, bar,recreation area, helicopter landing pads, pier and fishing boats. It measures of 370 foot by 85 foot, 24 feet tall and 12 feet maximum flotation when is under load.

Finished, it will operate in the Gulf of Mexico more than a 120 nm off the coast of the United States.

“Para mí, todos los proyectos presentan un reto especial, pues tomo muy en cuenta las necesidades específicas de cada cliente, el entorno y la estética, buscando una armonía completa” Patricia Reid Baquero, es una artista innata; su buen gusto y su originalidad al decorar es algo que lleva en las venas, y no es para menos, pues nació en un hogar de artistas: su padre, William Reid Cabral, un innovador arquitecto -ingeniero, su madre, Margarita Baquero de Reid, actriz, maestra de cocina y una amante de la escritura. Esta afamada diseñadora creció entre planos, colecciones de bastones y Cristos hechos por las manos de su padre, así como telares y artesanías que los Sres. Reid traían de diferentes rincones del mundo.

“Desde mi niñez aprendí que cada pieza tiene una historia que contar”, y lo ha demostrado en sus impresionantes decoraciones, pues cada elemento que complementa sus diseños tiene una razón de ser y una función que desempeñar.

A Patricia le encanta enseñar, por lo que desde muy joven fue profesora de diseño de interiores, de historia del arte y de museografía; además valora el talento artístico dominicano y fomenta la mano de obra local, creando talleres para el desarrollo del talento de artesanos criollos.

Patricia Reid Baquero, is an innate artist; her good taste and originality when decorating are something that she carries in the veins, being born in a home of artists: her father, William Reid Cabral, an innovating architect - engineer, her mother, Margarita Baquero de Reid, actress, cooking teacher and a passionate of the writing.

This famous designer grew between planes, collections of canes and Christ made by the hands of her father, as well as looms and crafts that her parents brought from different parts of the world. “Since my childhood I learned that each piece has a history to tell”, demonstrated in her impressive decorations, because each element that complements her designs has a function to carry out. Patricia loves to teach, reason why she became a teacher of interior design, Art History, and museum, in addition she enhances the Dominican talent and foments local manpower, creating workshops for the development of the talent of native craftsmen.

Patricia, along with her brothers, Carlos Reid, architect, and Georgia Reid, project manager, owns a family company, where altogether offer a complete architectonic and interior design service with the most complete and personalized attention.

Careful in shaping, after generations, their particular sense to ornament spaces, Reid Baquero has had the happiness to design far-reaching projects in our country, like: Balconies of the Atlantic, town model of Guavaberry, CapCana, Casa de Campo, national and international Hotels, clubs, bars and restaurants, the International Airport of the Américas (north terminal), Airport El Catey in Samaná, as well as residences in the beach for important people.

Cada proyecto que ha decorado presenta un reto especial en su carrera, pues ella toma muy en cuenta las necesidades específicas de cada cliente, el entorno y la estética, buscando una armonía completa en los espacios.

“Pienso que en nuestro país somos privilegiados por el trópico, por los materiales oriundos y por la calidez del clima”, es por esto, que ella busca crear un conjunto de mezclas y aperturas, diseños que se distingan por la búsqueda de claridad, para aprovechar el sol y la luz del día. De modo que, los textiles claros y frescos, acentuados con toques de colores, son los protagonistas en sus diseños.

Patricia Reid es una persona minuciosa, busca el más mínimo detalle de cada mueble a colocarse, pues para ella “la armonía entre diseño y funcionalidad es sumamente importante para crear ambientes acogedores y agradables” Los materiales más utilizados en sus majestuosas decoraciones son: las vetas de caoba, la coralina, por su claridad, el mimbre y ratán, por su ligereza, así como la mezcla del blanco con colores suaves y vivos, de telas frescas.

Cuenta con fábricas de ratán y mimbre, así como un taller de ebanistería, en el cual, elabora sus propios diseños de muebles en diferentes tipos de maderas.

Jardín

La construcción de un jardín requiere de ideas, dedicación y buen gusto; debe tener un diseño debidamente enfocado al uso que tendrá el jardín (jardín de lujo, para los niños, como desahogo de la casa) para asegurar la duración y el mantenimiento del mismo.

Para iniciar la preparación del jardín es necesario nivelar el terreno, añadiendo la tierra que sea necesaria para lograr el punto ideal; se debe evitar que quede muy arenoso o arcilloso. La motoazada es el equipo que se utiliza para realizar estas funciones.

Luego del terreno listo, se empieza la colocación de árboles y plantas, se instala un sistema de riego,

preferiblemente automático, colocado bajo la tierra; el método estandarizado que posee esparce la cantidad de agua que se programe según las necesidades de las plantaciones.

Una vez terminado este proceso, se incorporan los cercados, los arbustos y las flores, se les agrega una capa de 10 ó 15 centímetros de tierra vegetal y fertilizantes si la tierra los requiere. Luego de estar lista se procede a sembrar el césped esparciendo semillas de distintos tipos de hierbas (Lolium, Perenne, Festuco, Poa y agrostis), pues dependiendo del tipo de clima o tierra una de las semillas predominará mas que las demás.

Al terminar este proceso se pasa una horca en distintos sentidos y se le aplica un abono de materias orgánicas que lo cubra, se le pasa un rulo y se riega.

Los primeros tres días las semillas necesitaran de mucha humedad, pero se debe evitar el encharque. Para lograr que crezcan se deben dejar sin agua hasta que germinen, luego de germinadas se vuelven a regar evitando el abuso de agua para no ahogar la planta.

Disponer de un bonito jardín conlleva mucho trabajo y de un cuidado maternal, pues cada planta posee su personalidad y sus exigencias, su hora específica para regarse, para podarse, necesita de mucha observación para entender su evolución y climatización en el lugar donde se encuentran.

Se deben elegir elementos sencillos y apropiados para que el jardín no se vea recargado y se conserve elegante y limpio.

Según el experto en diseños y elaboración de jardines, Curro Sánchez “el jardín no debe estar sobrecargado ni tener muchos elementos, la cantidad no da la belleza. Se deben combinar bien los distintos elementos”. De igual forma, se deben leer bien las instrucciones de todos los productos que apliquemos a las plantas, pues una mala aplicación puede dañar mucho el jardín.

Las herramientas que no pueden faltar para las labores del jardín son: la segadora, una desbrozadora, la binadera, guantes, tijeras, manguera y las mascarillas.

Para cuidar de tu cuerpo mientras lo trabajas, no debes dejar de usar protector solar, repelente, gafas de sol, ropa fresca y cómoda.

Es un bosque húmedo subtropical, con una vegetación rica y variada por las cualidades del terreno y el suelo que posee.

La representación animal, también es significativa, pues su diversidad de ambientes permite la existencia de diferentes especies, ‘‘endémicas, nativas y migratorias que no se pueden encontrar en el resto del país’’.

Las cavernas existentes, guardan un importante valor histórico, al encontrarse en ellas impregnadas, ‘‘las pictografías que realizaron los primeros habitantes de la isla, los aborígenes tainos, de los cuales, también proviene la palabra haitises o tierra de montañas’’.

El Parque Nacional los Haitises es una de las áreas protegidas del país. Es una zona que posee múltiples elementos paisajísticos admirables como: las Cuevas de Ángel, el Bosque Húmedo y Tropical, los Cayos de los Pájaros y la Zona de los Manglares. Ambas versiones cuentan con neumáticos “run flat”, (cuya capacidad de rodar es posible a baja velocidad durante un cierto número de kilómetros) y una suspensión de dureza variable mediante un fluido controlado magnéticamente.

Entrene balanceadamente Sí usted sólo realiza una sola actividad física, como por ejemplo, si sólo hace estiramientos, usted podría lograr tener un cuerpo muy flexible, pero carente de fuerza, si usted hace ejercicio cardiovascular en la máquina caminadora, usted podría rebajar su nivel de grasa, pero carecería de tono muscular, en especial en la parte superior del cuerpo si no complementa el entrenamiento con algún ejercicio de resistencia (pesas).

7. Deje tiempo para descansar Los músculos se tonifican, desarrollan en los períodos de descanso, no cuando estamos entrenando, sino que justamente después del entrenamiento. Si no le damos tiempo al cuerpo de recuperarse, todo el trabajo hecho durante el entrenamiento se perderá.

8. Varíe su entrenamiento Cada 3 ó 4 meses, cambie el tipo de actividades que realiza. Por ejemplo, cambie la forma en que

Arquitectura y decoración El diseño arquitectónico de la primera fase estuvo a cargo del arquitecto Miguel Reyes Musa, quien conjugó un estilo moderno y sencillo con la necesidad de crear un ambiente playero, informal. De igual modo, estuvo involucrada la prestigiosa firma del arquitecto Juan Pérez Morales, quien posee más de 30 años de experiencia.

En general, el diseño del proyecto se basó en una arquitectura caribeña, con materiales nobles como: la madera, la piedra y el vidrio, permitiendo que las edificaciones luzcan más ligeras y playeras aunque conserven un diseño moderno e innovador. La transparencia es el elemento predominante en los edificios para aprovechar la riqueza ecológica y la vista hacia la playa.

La decoración estuvo a cargo de la afamada diseñadora de interiores, Patricia Reid Baquero, quien ornamentó los espacios con detalles indonesios y caribeños, utilizando materiales nativos de la zona.

La excelente arquitectura y su originalidad al decorar integraron la fórmula perfecta para lograr los espacios más cómodos y relajantes que te puedas imaginar; aquellos que por ser hermosamente funcionales despiertan el deseo de hacer una réplica de los mismos y disfrutar a diario de ellos.

Es un material que se usa para todo tipo de revestimiento en el hogar, aunque con mayor constancia en la construcción de baños, aplicándose en pisos, paredes, lavabos, cenefas, rodapiés y molduras.

Existe una gran variedad de mármol, diferenciándose básicamente por su composición, estructura y color. Los hay muy resistentes, otros más frágiles y más porosos. En totalidad, están caracterizados por su durabilidad, funcionalidad y sencilla colocación.

Posee múltiples cualidades, por lo que es necesario realizar una adecuada selección del tipo de mármol a utilizar y de las terminaciones que aspira disfrutar, siempre tomando en cuenta el lugar en el cuál se aplicará.

El uso del cuarto de baño ha sufrido cambios y transformaciones en el transcurso de los años, hoy significa un espacio acogedor y confortable. Por lo que se han creado un sin número de elementos que lo convierten en una estancia de descanso, como son los variados estilos de bañeras, las cuales ofrecen un elevado nivel de relajación.

Entre éstas, las de hidromasaje con sus diferentes sistemas, como el de agua y aire, que mezclados proporcionan descano al cuerpo, alivio del estrés y una gran sensación de ingravidez. Pura originalidad

El labavo o lavamanos es un elemento imprescindible en el baño, cuya función no sólo se basa en facilitar la higiene personal, más bien en ornamentar y conjugar el estilo decorativo que se quiera lograr.

En la actualidad, los diseños de los labavos no son tan comunes y sencillos como antes, cada vez más las ideas decorativas son más variadas y creativas, como los de estampados, colores, piedras y demás.

Los de estampados juegan mucho con las flores: rosas, margaritas, estampados orientales y hasta personajes tipo Cómics.

Los de colores, poseen una amplia gama para elegir: negro, dorado, plateado, blanco, verde, azules y rosas, además de los que son en materiales como: aluminio, madera y cristal.

Existen hermosos diseños de lavamanos en piedras de estilo minimalista y contemporáneo elaborados en piedras: mármol, basalto (roca con gran cantidad de hierro, de color oscuro. Es la roca más abundante en la corteza terrestre) y ónix (mineral en tonalidades verdes, castañas, rojizas, grises, y blanquecinas, considerado como piedra semipreciosa). El acero inoxidable es un material muy utilizado para acompañar estas creaciones.

Por otro lado, existen los lavamanos de cristal, los más bellos que te puedas imaginar. Estos le brindan al baño gran elegancia al conjugar el agua con el cristal. Aunque no lo parezcan, son muy resistentes y requieren de los mismos cuidados que un lavamanos de cerámica.

Estos en la antigüedad, carecían incluso de privacidad, luego se crearon modelos en los que el depósito de suministro de agua estaba separado del excusado y casi siempre lucían todos iguales; en nuestros tiempos no sólo forman un único elemento, sino que los materiales, los colores, los diseños y la incorporación de sistemas de ahorro de agua, lo convierte en una pieza sanitaria muy especial.

Su evolución ha sido revolucionaria en todos los aspectos, en cuanto a los materiales; desde los más tradicionales como la porcelana, la cerámica y el acero hasta los más controversiales como el cristal de Swarovski, el oro y el mármol dorado.

Sus diseños, algunos son particulares y otros son hechos como respuesta a las necesidades de confortabilidad. Por ejemplo, existen excusados con pecera, luces y amplificadores musicales. Además de los llamados inteligentes, que ahorran agua y se limpian solos.

Regularmente para lograr este efecto se recurre al uso de materiales orgánicos que permitan la integración con la naturaleza tales como, piedras naturales con poca porosidad, calizas, lajas, bamboo, entre otros. Un diseño concebido sobre el estilo minimalista, en el que se utiliza una iluminación relajante y se crean amplios espacios.

Para mayor conservación del espacio creado en exterior, es muy importante utilizar productos adecuados para la instalación y protección de las piedras naturales y mármoles.

Es bueno destacar que el diario vivir nos ha llevado a que cada día el Outdoor Shower vaya en aumento, ya que su diseño arquitectónico inspira libertad, ayuda a liberar el estrés y disfrutar de un buen clima todo el año.

La Galería Mesa Fine Art fue el escenario de la presentación. La muestra está conformada por más de 25 obras en diferentes formatos y medios.

Juan Andujar concibe la estación del verano ideal para transmitir al mundo su exposición y en ella, toda la calma que refleja el Mar Caribe y todos los elementos que le rodean.
