Custom Dollhouses Dollhouse Kits Dollhouse remodeling Dollhouse Electrical & Supplies Wooden Toys & Games Custom Furniture Custom Cabinets & Vanities Church Furnishings

As our saying goes “If You Can Dream It We, Can Build It”. I have built many pieces, both large and small, from only a picture or a hasty sketch on a scrap piece of paper. We can custom build dollhouses, remodel and electrify dollhouses, build handmade heirloom toys and games, handcraft custom furniture, entertainment centers, end tables, coffee tables, cabinets, bars... the possibilities are endless.

3.Use a glue stick to spread a coat of glue to back of pages. Do not coat the end board pages found at either end of strip.

4.Press the pages back-to-back. Make sure that the edges line up and are as straight as possible. 7.Paint glue to the blank sides of the book cover’s edging panels. Fold over and press in place. Make sure that the diagonal seams match up well. Allow to dry.

8. Create the spine’s creases using the metal ruler as a guide. This ensures a professional looking book cover. 9.Remove the clips from the bundle of pages. Position the bundle inside the book cover so that you will know how to position it once the glue is on the blank side. Paint glue across the spine area and the end boards.

6.Carefully fold the book cover’s four edges at the fold lines. The diagonal edges should line up perfectly. 10.Position the spine and end boards and press in place.

2.Accordion-fold pages as shown in this photograph.

11. To complete the project take the dust jacket and line up the spine artwork over the book’s spine. While holding it firmly, fold the jacket’s front flap. Finally, fold the jacket’s back flap.

Meet Ada Holloway . . .

“I have made miniatures off and on since the 1980’s. All kinds of media, especially leather and beads, are fun for me. A few months after retiring from teaching, I found a miniature store near me, Huntley House Miniatures in Riverbank, CA, and I have been teaching there for the last three years. It has been a challenge to create a new project for each week’s Make and Take classes. My goal is to raise the skills of my students and to convince them that they can make some beautiful miniatures. Along the way we have found a great group of people, close friends, and lots of fun. I also love designing, and I am working on a line of easy to make furniture for the beginner. I’m learning to use Sketchup, a free CAD program, so I can share precise plans with my students. I do not want to make 20 of this and 20 of that, but I do commission work and sell my minis. My focus is on designing new projects and to make it possible for more and more people to make their own miniatures.”

stand in the adhesive aisle. That’s right, an entire aisle

filled with different glues, pastes, cements, and bonds all claiming to be exactly what you need to make things stick together. Selecting the right adhesive can be confusing for the new miniature hobbyist or even the experienced craftsman and making the wrong choice could mean ruining a project you’ve spent hours on. This list will help give you a better idea of which adhesives might best suit your needs.

I spent almost 40 years as a woodworker and contractor before taking up miniature work, making my fair share of mistakes and happy accidents along the way. By passing on some tips and experience, I can save you from having to learn some things the hard way. I have found that I prefer using many of the products more likely to be found at the C R E A T I V E
