Beaux Florals is all about creating something that sets us apart from other designers. For me, it’s our colour palettes of such wild dimensions of colour. With a background in hair, it all starts with colour theory, bringing tone on tones, adding those wild pops of colour and never being afraid to try new things. With a love for an asymmetrical shape, whimsical greens, and a variety of unique vessels.

I love that Wedding florals are so personalized for each couple. I love when a groom or partner shows just as much interest as their spouse when deciding on a theme or colour palette. It’s so important to me that the couples get involved with planning their special day. I feel like I can really get to understand a client personally just by the florals and colours they have chosen. It’s also very special to me when a couple says, “We trust you. you have free range of design!”

I’ve noticed that with covid and having to move their dates to a later time, clients have even moved towards brighter colours than originally planned, wanting that feeling of warmth, excitement and garden inspired. I’ve also noticed that everlasting dried florals are still a huge trend! I think that the fact that floral budgets are high, it’s a special plus to be able to keep your dried floral arrangements as a keep-sake or even giveaway. What a great little reminder to be able to keep your everlasting arrangements for years to come!

Geoff Shaw Booking your florist is just as important as booking your venue! With such a high demand for florals across the globe, it’s so important to lock in your designer to be available for your wedding date! Especially when it comes to specific flowers and colours during a wedding season. Luckily with the science of growing, flowers that were once a seasonal bloom, can now be grown indoors by some of the largest growers all over the world! When booking your floral designer, it always helps to create a spreadsheet or vision board to help designers understand your views and concepts. I always tell my clients, flowers are so important to bring in that energy of connection, mood, and emotions.

I think some of the most important details when creating your floral package would be your budget. What I’m quickly learning is that education is key to success when building an experience. Based on budget, it’s very easy to understand a client’s sense of design, style, and expectations.

Floral design started for me as an escape from my everyday work. When I first got into florals, I was living up in Muskoka managing my restaurant. Being in a small town, I needed to be creative and get inspired. I would wake up early every week to forage wild flowers off the side of the roads and in my backyard. These flowers were spread across my restaurant as a way to set a mood. Not soon after I was asked to create arrangements for a Breast Cancer Fundraiser close to home. And that was it for me. Based on the reactions and interest, I knew how it made me feel and what I needed to pursue. Shortly after I had sold my properties up north, closed my hair salon at the start of covid, and made Beaux Florals a house hold name throughout the pandemic.

It has been the most amazing year to date with feeling the love and support from family, friends and fans all over the world!
