“My ideas and inspiration come from a fascination with scientific experiments and innovative modes of thinking, both present and future. Through my oil paintings and drawings, executed in a realistic style, I explore the concept of transgenic manipulation involving human beings and animals. These artworks serve as portrait examples, reflecting a hypothetical and imaginative projection of the advancements we witness today. Although currently speculative, they depict a plausible and realistic possibility that may manifest in the future.”

I was born with a rare genetic disorder called Elhers Danlos Syndrome which caused my spine to collapse twice and many other complications. I began my art in 2015 at the age of 40 after a neardeath experience. I was inspired to become an artist by a child prodigy Akiane Kramarik who started painting at the age of four. I began creating realistic drawings and paintings. I found that I can work in many mediums, but my medium of choice has become pastels. When the pandemic started in 2020, I began doing my art full-time and have since created over 85 pastels. I enjoy depicting people, children, pets, wildlife, landscapes, nature, still lives and botanicals. My inability to ever have children of my own draws me to depict them. I enjoy depicting the beauty of nature and everything in it. I view my art as form of therapy.”

NATALIA ROSE

https://natalia-rose.dk mailnatalia.dk@gmail.com

Natalia Rose is a Danish artist best known for her semi-abstract works which feature pictographlike symbols painting with broad and heavy brushstrokes. The artist raises questions about the nature of communication and the way in which one can express abstract and conceptual ideas through colour and iconographic markings. For example, in her painting “I” (2016), the artist uses only essential strokes to spell out his name and create patterns of letters across the canvas. Born in 1953 in Stavropol, Russia, she studied at the Moscow State University and later at the University of Copenhagen. In 2014 the artist held her first exhibition in Copenhagen and since in New York, Paris, Amsterdam, Sankt Petersburg and London. Today, her works are held in private collections across the world - in the USA, Canada, Spain, Sweden and Denmark among others. Natalia Rose lives and works in Copenhagen, Denmark.
