Our Mancunian soaperwomen love nothing more than a Kick Ass Concealer and a slick of Smoulder Kohl, any day. So, about that gauntlet… You’re on! At The Trafford Centre we’re puckering up for our eighth annual beauty week from Mon 30 Jan - Sun 5 Feb, 2012, and want Soap & Glory to be the star sponsor. You bring the cosmetics, we’ll bring the girls. And a fabulous pop-up pod, in a prime position, for you to wow the crowd and perform makeovers in the mall all week long. As the face of our event, you’ll also attract some serious brand envy through a mix of multimedia advertising. So no, The Trafford Centre is not going to let Galway’s Shop Street take us lying down and yes, we want MORE THAN our fair share of Soap & Glory. GALWAY: NEW BEAUTY CAPITAL OF THE WORLD! During a trying day of coffee & cake, debating the charms of lengthening vs volumising mascara and watching PR Gwen perform her routine from US Dance Camp circa ’85 we were reading some SALES FIGURES. We were SHOCKED AT WHAT WE SAW. Our number one store for cosmetics sales is in that well-known, thriving metropolis: GALWAY. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Galway) Now – don’t get us wrong. We’re rapt that all of you Galwegians(?) are showing your might, throwing your support behind Soap & Glory and showing the rest of the world what for! YOU’RE OUR HEROES.
But it does leave us wondering how Boots at Manchester’s Trafford Centre is feeling - having been knocked well and truly off its perch as our long-time top store. INCITING RIVALRY? Never! PROMOTING FULL-SCALE WAR…we wouldn’t dream of it – but we are LAYING DOWN THE GAUNTLET to all Mancunian soaperwomen. Are you just going to lie down and take this?
