Waikato Stud Matamata Swifts v Old Blues WaiBOP Premiership - 2.45pm

Richardson Racing Stables Swifts Reserves v West Hamilton United WaiBOP Championship - 12.30pm Matamata Domain | Saturday September 12, 2015

A Few Kind Words Today marks the start of a run of three consecutive home games for the Swifts and Swifts reserves and, while it’s going to put a bit of pressure on me to get a weekly programme out, I’m sure everyone else at the club is delighted by the prospect. 2015 Welcome to today’s visitors - Old Blues and West Management Hamilton. Both clubs have enjoyed successful 2015 Committee seasons on the park and will come here expecting points. For us, last Saturday was one of those days you Patron sometimes have in football when, despite what might Jack Poole seem like insurmountable odds, the game decides it will be your time to shine. I felt like a Grandad when President I calculated the average age of the Premiership and Julie Clothier Championship teams, but they both ventured to different Vice-President parts of the Federation, put in mature performances and Malcolm Raynel came home with results under their belts. Treasurer Well done to Paul, Mal, Richard, Pete and the players, Dave Mann not only for last weekend but for the work that’s gone Secretary before. As club management, it’s really pleasing to see a Debbie Sankey few results on the board and our teams finishing strong. And some smiles on players faces. Club Captain I’m looking forward to seeing how this transfers through Ronan Costello to our under-19 team. At the moment Paul’s probably Committee going to have to leave some good players out of the Pete Challis travelling squad for Napier, such is the young talent we Ana Paterson have here at the moment. I don’t envy him his selection Junior Convenor deliberations. Cathy O’Callaghan The Challenge Matamata Swifts Ladies team travels Club Development Mgr to Hamilton tomorrow to take on Hamilton North in the Dwayne Barlow Waikato Plate final. Everyone loves the chance to play for some silverware so I sure the players, staff and travelling fans will be excited and up for the, er, challenge. Best of luck to the team. I look forward to seeing the Plate return to Matamata for the second time in three seasons. Dwayne Barlow, Club Development Manager PICTURED Front Cover The officials spot the one flat spot left on the Domain surface prior to our last home game.
