DOG WALKERS

For a while now I have been observing people walking their dogs through my local park, it occurred to me the differences and similarities between the dog walkers and the dogs, how the walker could seem similar to the dog. When I started talking to them and photographing them those similarities became more evident, the way in which they posed in front of the camera was very interesting because immediately I could see the relationships the dog had with the walker. Photographing them as I encountered them, in the environment they chose to walk, but making them individual from that environment and getting close to them to bring out the unique relationship between each subject. However for this book, I wanted to look at another perspective, to look at how the dog walkers fit into the world. The idea of â&#x20AC;&#x153;International Dog Walkersâ&#x20AC;? came about by looking on Google Street View and noticing someone walking their dog. The original idea of observing dog walkers captured me and I knew that these were my observations but millions of people could see them online. The images are from all over the world, different cultures in different environments, how the dog walkers fit into the world is visible.
