In the wake of the pandemic and the ongoing strains placed on the NHS, Kingston-upon-Thames’ charity-owned private healthcare facility launches its new private GP Service. With its extended appointment opti ons and fast access to specialist care it’s welcome news in the current climate

Kingston upon Thames’ New Victoria Hospital has launched its new onsite dedicated private GP Service for both adults and children, offering patients a range of appointment options, quick referrals and fast access care. The move comes in the wake of the pandemic, which continues to put huge pressures on the NHS.

“Unique Approach”

“We are excited to unveil this brand-new offering to the local public,” says New Victoria Hospital’s Chief Executive, David Marshall. “Our unique approach enables us to provide a wide range of multi-speciality surgical and medical care all under one roof. Face-to-face or virtual consultations can be booked for a one-off fee cost of £95 with fast access to onsite ultrasound, X-rays, CT scans, MRI scans as well as imaging and physiotherapy. Should they be needed, more specialist investigations can be opened up for patients, cutting down that anxiety-inducing waiting time and avoiding further health complications.”

Virtual Appointments or Face to Face

Virtual appointments have become part of the new normal of healthcare, a convenient and safe way to conduct an initial consultation. Face to face appointments are also still an option for the patient’s fi rst consultations and if necessary, diagnostic examinations and treatments are conducted at the hospital. New Victoria Hospital is a well-regarded medical facility in the community, recently winning the Excellent Patient Experience Award by Doctify, the healthcare patient review platform where the Hospital consistently achieves a 4.87 out of a 5-star rating.

This new self-pay GP service offers benefi ts including; same-day 20 minute appointments six days a week (Monday to Saturday), with the option of booking extended appointment slots if patients want to discuss their health concerns in more detail. Thanks to the Hospital’s facilities, it also enables fast access to specialist

consultants, quick path diagnostic services such as Imaging and blood testing and quick referrals for Physiotherapy appointments. There is also an onsite pharmacy for same-day prescription pick-ups.

Aside from general healthcare assistance, New Victoria Hospital’s new GP Service will also offer specialist advice including: • Acute medical complaints • Children’s health • Postnatal health • Vaccinations • Blood tests such as: - Cholesterol - Glucose - Iron - Liver function - Thyroid profile - Female and male hormones - Vitamins Speaking about the new service, accessible online or by telephone appointment, Mr Marshall added:

“We thought carefully about the most significant barriers patients face when booking and undergoing a GP appointment and worked hard to eradicate these, particularly in light of the pandemic as issues such as homeworkout injuries and delayed diagnoses may arise”.
