They are claiming the fashion industry stage from the Swahili Fashion Week in Dar es Salaam to the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in South Africa. Tanzanian designers are pushing the boundaries with a simple ͞<ŝƚĞŶŐĞ͟ůĞĂǀŝŶŐŵĂƐƚĞƌƉŝĞĐĞƐŝŶ their wake.

ǀĞƌLJ ŵŽŶƚŚ Ăƌ >ŝĨĞ ĚĞĚŝĐĂƚĞƐ ƚŚŝƐ ƐĞĐƟŽŶ ƚŽ LJŽƵŶŐ ĞŵĞƌŐŝŶŐ and well-known designers who want to create brands and use ƚŚĞĨĂƐŚŝŽŶƉůĂƞŽƌŵĂƐĂƐƚĞƉƉŝŶŐ stone towards achieving their dream. This month we met ůĞĂŶŽƌǁŚŽƐĞŝĚĞĂƐŝŶĚĞƐŝŐŶŝŶŐ clothes and accessories are ĂŵĂnjŝŶŐ͕LJŽƵŵƵƐƚǁĂƚĐŚŽƵƚ͊

experience for something she likes the most thus she decided ƚŽ ƋƵŝƚ ŚĞƌ ũŽď ĂŶĚ ƌĞůŽĐĂƚĞĚ ƚŽ ŚŝŶĂ ǁŚŝůĞ ĐŽŶƟŶƵŝŶŐ ǁŝƚŚ ƚŚĞ ďƵƐŝŶĞƐƐ ĞdžƉĞĐƟŶŐ ƚŽ ŐĂŝŶ more knowledge and create ĐŽŶŶĞĐƟŽŶƐ ǁŝƚŚ ĚŝīĞƌĞŶƚ ƉĞŽƉůĞ ĨƌŽŵ ĚŝīĞƌĞŶƚ ƉůĂĐĞƐ ĨŽƌ ƌĂǁ ŵĂƚĞƌŝĂůƐ͕ ŶĞǁ ŝĚĞĂƐ ĂŶĚ expansion.

Her customers are located in Tanzania so she has one employee in Tanzania who ŵĂŶĂŐĞƐ Ăůů ĂĐƟǀŝƟĞƐ ƚŚĂƚ ĚĞŵĂŶĚ ŶŽĮƚƐ ƉƌĞƐĞŶĐĞ ůŝŬĞ

ƚĂŬŝŶŐ ŵĞĂƐƵƌĞŵĞŶƚƐ͕ ĐŽůůĞĐƟŶŐ ŽƌĚĞƌƐ͕ ĐŽŶƚƌŽůůŝŶŐ ƉĂLJŵĞŶƚƐ and delivery. In the near future she plans to open a designing garment and a training Centre in Tanzania for youth with designing passion.

Currently the business is conducted online but in the near future we’re looking forward ƚŽ ŽƉĞŶŝŶŐ Ă ŐĂƌŵĞŶƚ͕ ĐůŽƚŚŝŶŐ store and a fashion designing training centre in Dar es salaam ʹdĂŶnjĂŶŝĂ͘
