Community Support Grants Program 2023 –successful projects announced in a year of record applications.

Orange Credit Union was founded on ‘helping people to help themselves and each other’, with the Community Grants Support Program demonstrating the value the organisation places on developing the region. Team OCU is proud to ‘give back’ to strengthen our community and support those who are making a real di erence to improve the lives of others.

The OCU team was delighted to receive nearly 50 applications representing a wide range of not-for-profit organisations from across the Orange region and beyond. Records show this is the most applications received in a single funding round since the program first started over 15 years ago.

Through the combined e orts of customers and OCU team, over 190 grants have been allocated to benefit local organisations in Orange, and the surrounding regions have now received grant funding support totalling almost half a million dollars ($500,000) since program first began 17 years ago.

After careful consideration from our Community Support Grants Committee, Orange Credit Union is proud to support the following projects who are making a significant contribution to the community and the lives of others:

• Orange Lions Club – purchase medical equipment for use within the Children’s Ward at the Orange Local Area Health Service - $3,000

• CYMS Netball Club – supply the junior netball teams with new uniforms$5,000

• Orange Chamber Music Festival – support for the ‘Cultured 2024’ community event, bringing together art, music and culture - $4,000

• Pinnacle Dragon Boat Club – purchase a marquee to support the ongoing growth where participants celebrate life, keep fit and connect with others - $5,000

• Orange CYMS Rugby League –contribute to the purchase of a team minibus to facilitate greater opportunity for teams to more actively engage in the community and travel to away games.$5,000

OCU would like to congratulate these successful groups, working together to further develop the community where we work, live and play, for now and future generations.
