Phoenix Crew Training Centre
We opened our new Phoenix Crew Training Centre in April this year and our first CTC WINGS trainee airline pilots are already spreading their wings and flying solo. A ‘postcard home’ provides a great snapshot of their stay so far in the Grand Canyon state: “…an absolutely beautiful place, with mountains, blue sky and sunshine pretty much every day (and perfect flying conditions). The part we’ve been waiting for has arrived and we’ve started flying. We are flying brand new Diamond DA40 aircraft, each with a fantastic Garmin 1000 glass cockpit set-up. It was so good to get airborne. The views are absolutely stunning. Our first lessons provided the basic foundations for flying, working up towards going solo.

We’ve been to see the USA v Mexico soccer match, visited several shopping outlets and we’re planning a weekend trip to Havasu falls in the Grand Canyon! Las Vegas and Los Angeles are roughly 4 hours away and there is one of the biggest aircraft graveyards in the USA located in Tucson a couple of hours away.” Our CTC Aviation Phoenix training fleet grows bigger every month and we will soon be up to 13 Diamond DA40 and DA42 aircraft to complement our dedicated campus training centre designed to accommodate up to 100 trainees in residence at any one time. Our next course of 6 CTC WINGS trainees is due to arrive in Phoenix later this month.
