easyJet CEO Guest of Honour

Carolyn McCall, the highly successful Chief Executive Officer of easyJet was the Guest of Honour at a very exciting and memorable ceremony to celebrate the success and achievements of our CTC WINGS and CTC TAKEOFF pilot training programme graduates. Of those graduating, over half have been placed with easyJet throughout this year and so it was especially appropriate that Carolyn should recognise the success and welcome her own new First Officers to the airline. Carolyn also recognised the very special part that CTC Aviation has played in supporting the success of the airline through the supply of pilots for almost 20 years, by saying: “CTC Aviation is one of our most important partners, having responded to our needs and provided innovative solutions to the challenges we have faced since our first flight in 1995. We look forward to extending our relationship to ensure the very best opportunities for our future pilots.”

easyJet DEGREE

easyJet MPL 2014

The exciting profession of an airline pilot is ‘right up there’ with the very best of stimulating and rewarding vocational careers. Such is the high regard and recognition of the profession, a brand new Bachelors Honours Degree programme has been developed which combines the airline pilot training syllabi of CTC WINGS with academic studies and the ability to obtain a student loan to help with the financing. easyJet immediately recognised the value of such a programme to its future pilots and has backed it with real enthusiasm. Developed in partnership with CTC Aviation and Middlesex University, the initial phases of the ‘easyJet Degree’ will be undertaken through the normal CTC WINGS programme and the final elements are achieved by undertaking A320 type rating, operational line training and two modules of easyJet-centred directed study whilst flying with easyJet; rewarding successful pilots with a BSc (Hons) in Professional Aviation Pilot Practice.

Future Pilot Programme

Join BA from CTC WINGS

A320 Type Ratings

Launched in 2012, the pioneering British Airways Future Pilot Programme (FPP) will enable up to 500 aspiring airline pilots (over five years) to achieve their career ambition to fly. Working in partnership with a CTC Aviation Group company, BA established a ground-breaking new approach to funding these programmes through the BBVA bank and enabling people from all walks of life, irrespective of their financial circumstances, to achieve their dream to fly.

One of the key benefits of training with our own independent CTC WINGS Route is that both the syllabus and funding solution are identical to the BA Future Pilot Programme. This means that if BA ever has a need to ‘topup’ the number of FPP graduates with additional cadet pilots, our CTC WINGS graduates can achieve this for the airline easily and seamlessly. In fact, CTC WINGS is the only Route available where it is possible for you to do this for BA – another unique career benefit from CTC Aviation.

Traditionally, BA has always delivered Airbus A320 type ratings to its cadet pilot graduates ‘in-house’ through British Airways Flight Training (BAFT). However, recognising the excellence and experience of pilot training from CTC Aviation, BA has now invited us to deliver Airbus A320 type training courses to BA FPP cadet graduates.

CTC Aviation is extremely proud to have been invited by BA to partner with them in this way to establish and launch the FPP, as well as to provide the training following our CTC WINGS syllabus for many of the planned 500 Cadets throughout the planned five years of BA FPP training and enrolment.

Performance Protection

Next Generation Fleet

Phoenix Crew Training Centre

CTC Aviation has always led the way over the years with unique ‘protection’ and peace of mind for our CTC WINGS cadets.

The aircraft flight training fleet at CTC Aviation has always been at the leading edge, with the use of both Diamond and Cessna aircraft fitted with Garmin G1000 Electronic Flight Instrument Systems (EFIS) avionics or - as they are known - ‘glass’ cockpits. These glass cockpits are very similar in presentation to the avionics found on the flight decks of the airliners that our graduates will fly with our Partner airlines.

Such is the high level of demand for airline pilot training from CTC Aviation and CTC WINGS, we recently opened our new purpose-built campus Crew Training Centre at Phoenix Goodyear airport in Arizona, USA. Located 20 miles to the west of the city of Phoenix, training at the centre will be delivered to our CTC WINGS and CTC TAKEOFF cadets from Europe (ATPL Integrated, MPL and modular), as well as airline sponsored cadets from Asia and - in time - cadets who originate from both North and South America.

The launch of our new 2014 CTC WINGS Route (ATPL Integrated and MPL) sees this protection taken to a whole new level with the following significant enhancements*:

To add to the excitement and benefits, these new MPL programmes will also include the option to enrol upon the new ‘easyJet Degree’ announced by Carolyn at the graduation:

2. In the event that your CTC WINGS training should cease due to your lack of performance, despite your best endeavours, then you will get your money back.

CTC WINGS 2014

Always keen to be at the leading-edge of airline pilot training, in 2012 easyJet partnered with CTC Aviation to launch the Multi-crew Pilot Licence (MPL) programme for 24 Cadets as a new Route through CTC WINGS. Such was the success of the inaugural MPL programme, the airline has decided to do even more and in 2014 we will see the launch of a number of new MPL programmes with CTC Aviation throughout the year - almost doubling the number of pilots trained through the CTC WINGS MPL Route.

“I believe that it is absolutely vital to easyJet’s future that we have a pipeline of talented young people coming through and that’s why I am delighted we are now working in partnership with CTC Aviation and Middlesex University to offer a degree course for our pilots. “Pilots joining easyJet will be flying on a modern fleet of aircraft, with industry leading punctuality, high quality training and an unrivalled European network.”

We are absolutely delighted that such an opportunity has now arisen. BA is initially seeking an extra five cadet pilots from CTC WINGS to join them this month and there is further need anticipated later in the year.

This is the first time that BA has ever used an independent training provider to deliver type training. Such was the success of the launch courses that we are now delivering A320 type conversion training to BA FPP cadets from CAE and FTE as well as our own FPP and CTC WINGS graduates.

1.

Should any additional training (flight or ground), or aircraft for re-test be required throughout any phase of a CTC WINGS programme, this will be provided without any additional charge.

3. A dedicated Graduate Placement Team who work on your behalf to secure the very best airline placement opportunities. * Subject to terms and conditions.

We have now made even more investment in this next generation equipment and commenced the installation of new Garmin G800 Traffic Advisory Systems (TAS) throughout our entire EFIS aircraft training fleet and fitted as standard in all our new aircraft. Very similar in presentation to airliner Traffic Collision Avoidance Systems (TCAS), you will now fly some of the safest aircraft in the skies, as well as using the latest generation avionic equipment to even better prepare you for your airline flying career.

Capable of training up to 200 cadets per annum, our new Crew Training Centre – Phoenix has everything necessary to make pilot training a truly fantastic experience with single-study bedrooms on the flight-line, two swimming pools, a sports centre, gymnasium and volleyball court and a lovely restaurant/café. To complement these great facilities, an initial fleet of 13 brand new Diamond aircraft equipped with Garmin EFIS and TAS will be delivered over the coming months.
