Rec On The Go Family Game Nights

Remember Kick The Can, Box Hockey, or SPUD? Well, this summer, Rec On The Go staff are bringing those family games and many others to a park near you! KOW Parade Bike Decorating

Let us help you prepare for the Annual Kids on Wheels Parade. Centre Region Parks and Recreation staff will be on site at the Lower Pavilion at Holmes-Foster Park to hand out red, white, and blue streamers and tape. Parade participants can use the streamers to decorate their bikes, trikes, scooters, or strollers for the parade the next morning.

Annual CRPR Kids on Wheels Parade

Hey kids, show your patriotism and be part of the FREE Annual CRPR Kids on Wheels Parade on Monday, July 4. Bring your decorated bike, scooter, stroller, or wagon and meet us at the corner of Locust Lane and Foster Ave at 9:30 AM. The parade starts at 10 AM and ends at Sidney Friedman Park for watermelon and parachute games. A fun family way to start the holiday!

The Extra-Ordinary Capvara the Clown!

The Extra-Ordinary Capvara mixes the ridiculous and the extraordinary through his circus techniques and abilities. In this family-friendly show, he performs juggling, physical comedy, stunts, and tricks, provoking smiles from people of all ages around the world! Youth are 6-17 yrs. and adults are 18 and over. Welch Pool Cardboard Regatta

Build your own boat, and race it at Welch Pool! Boats must be made from cardboard, paperboard, and duct tape ONLY (colored duct tape is OK). Boats may be a maximum of 7' long and 4' wide. Paddles/propulsion must also be homemade using the same materials (or use your hands/feet). Race course will be one length of the pool (25 yards). Racers will be divided by division and category and may be separated into heats.

AWARDS: • 1st place in each division for the fastest boat • Best overall boat design • Best overall costume • The Titanic Award for most spectacular sinking

We will host pre-judging at 8:30 AM (all entries must be present) and the races will begin thereafter. Costumes must be pool/swimmer safe. Lifeguards will be on duty. Deadline to register Friday, July 15 at 12 PM.

Touch a Truck Event

Bring the kids out for an exciting afternoon of all things TRUCKS! Climb, touch and honk horns! This is a hands-on experience for the entire family! The first hour will be sensory-friendly with no horn honking!

Join us on Sat., July 25 at the State College Alliance Church parking lot, from 10 AM-1 PM. All ages are welcome to this FREE event!

Pedal, Splash & Dash Youth Triathlon

Swimming will take place at Welch Pool; the bike portion will use the bike path from Welch Pool to Blue Course Drive; the run portion will use the SCAHS field above the pool. Participants must be equipped with appropriate swimwear, their own bicycle and helmet, and running shoes or sneakers. Parents/guardians should be present to assist with race transitions.

Event will be held rain or shine; cancellation with full refund in the event of thunder/lightning. Participants who register prior to Wednesday July 20 will receive an event T-shirt! The events break-down as follows: •Ages 9-11: event includes a 100-yard swim, 2-mile bike, and a 1/2-mile run. Starts: 8 AM (Age 11), 8:30 AM (Age 10), and 9 AM (Age 9) •Ages 6-8: event includes a 50-yard swim, a 1-mile bike, and a 1/4 mile run. Starts: 9:30 AM (Age 8), 9:45 AM (Age 7), and 10AM (Age 6).

So Long Summer Splash and Movie! Paws-A-Pool-Ooza Dog Swim

Find your float and join us at Park Forest Pool for a Hawaiian-themed Dive-In Movie screening of “Luca!"

Doors open for evening swimming at 8 PM; the movie will start at approximately 8:30 PM. (No water slides for this event). There will be yard games as well as food and drink available for purchase. Staff will be selling glow sticks and raffling some door prizes. Pool passes will not be accepted for this event.
