o on any given day you could be valuing a property, delivering your pitch at a business meetup, or attending a sports event in which you might also be playing. Do you find yourself using sporting examples in your property seminars, or mentioning the Ealing Connect* group while visiting a property? > I think in a holistic sense the values of sport do overlap with business. Sport is 9/10 teamwork, while hard work outperforms individual skill – and the same is true in business. I was recently moved to write a 3000-word essay on the parallels between Leicester City winning the Premier League, and the world of business – it is on my LinkedIn account if anyone wishes to read it. * Local networking group

I wouldn’t necessarily though bring out links to local sports with clients unless there was a direct link between the sport and helping the client, i.e. increased exposure for their property. Your property seminars are always well attended. What was the reason for starting these? > We have grown a successful business over the last six years, and could continue along that trajectory of simply viewing ourselves as a

company people use when they wish to sell or let their property. However, the property seminars underline our commitment to proactively inform and engage with our client base and the local community.

It represents our success in growing the business not only from a revenue, but more importantly from a reputational viewpoint.

Your Christmas tree awaits EALING BROADWAY W5 > A Christmas surprise in Ealing Broadway for last weekend’ shoppers: Pines and Needles is open! It’s located as usual in the Christ the Saviour churchyard, and we stopped to chat with Perry through the fence (not realising the front gate was open)... Q: When are you opening? Perry: We’re open already! Q: What?! But if I buy a Christmas tree now I’ll need to buy another one by Christmas Eve! Perry: Why’s that? Q: Because it will die by then..? Perry: Naw, these are long-living trees, they can last. So if you’re a Christmas early bird, there’s a tree waiting for you in Ealing Broadway. A special welcome to all the out-of-town Christmas shoppers already buzzing around our shops. Enjoy what our town centre has to offer. Enjoy Ealing! @pinesandneedles

And now for the decorations EALING BROADWAY W5 > The_Ealinger contributor Joanna Dudzinska, who is Polish, was thrilled to see Christmas Shop open up last week at the Ealing Broadway Shopping Centre (opposite Chas Ohlson), stocked with Polish baubles, all manner of seasonal decorations – lights, streamers, and even fake snow. Shop assistant Sylwia (pictured) was proud to show off the delicate decorations, explaining that some of the baubles in stock are encrusted with Svarowski certified crystals. According to Christmas Shop’s page on Facebook, The Christmas Tree Company: “Our glass ornaments are hand-made in Poland in factories with long traditions, carefully crafted by experienced workers with great attention to detail.”

Local event soon? Invite Joanna Dudzinska to come along to cover it for The_Ealinger. Find Joanna via: English Lessons Online and Offline Ealing Walking, Talking and Exploring Group or reach her by email: englishlekcje@yahoo.co.uk

Interview with an actor in Acton Below: Barbara and Paul in ACTON VALE W3 > Just off Acton Vale, along Askew Road, there’s a the Octavia Foundation shop charity shop/local hub called Octavia, run by a lady named Barbara. Joanna Dudzinska stopped there last week to nab a couple of photos for The_Ealinger. “This man entered the shop just as I was causing a kerfuffle with my bicycle,” says Joanna. “Barbara asked him where she could get a Sherlock Holmes cap like his. Turned out he is an actor, Paul Stockman, and can be seen in films like ‘Dr Blood’s Coffin’ and ‘The Skull’!”
