Felicity Sandford Amazing Futures

17 April 2018 “Creating Websites that Work” with Nicola Ryall

“Hi I’m Felicity Sandford and I run Amazing Futures Ltd, offering marketing support to child-focused businesses. “I found out about this just by chance – I saw an advert online that someone posted, and I have been absolutely delighted with the three workshops I’ve attended so far. I went to the first one on social media, and the second one on writing bids and tenders, and then today I’ve been at this one, ‘Creating Websites that Work’, which has been really useful and given me lots of tips to go away with and look at my own website as well as client websites that I help to manage. “And I’ve also taken advantage of the mentoring – I’ve had one session so far, with more to follow up. I’ve been given some homework and it was really useful to have someone taking an outside look at my business to sort of make me think more critically about how I’m approaching things [...] “There’s always more to learn; for example the social media workshop, I knew a lot [about social media], but still I learned some new tools and apps that could help me to find hashtags, and on Twitter, which is probably my weaker area on social media, I picked up some good tips on that. “You never know everything about everything in marketing so there is always something more you can learn and get an overview on, and get a few tips on, and a new perspective on.”

I’m walking away with lots of tools that I’m going to use

Susie Kabani Ugenie

1 May 2018 “Women in Business (Courage to Grow)” with Ishreen Bradley “Hi, my name is Susan Kabani and I’m the co-founder of Ugenie – I’ve just attended a Branduin Business Support workshop at Ealing Council today, for women in business and helping us grow and get the courage to grow our businesses. “I wasn’t sure what to expect today but I’m walking away with lots of tools that I’m going to use, to actually achieve the goals. “I’m really glad that I came, I met some great people, and I would definitely recommend people coming to the other workshops that are being offered.”

[The workshop] gave me the confidence to at least have some clear steps now

Magdalena Konon

“When I came here I didn’t know what to expect – I didn’t have, Thermigirl [rather] I don’t have any business plan and I’ve never made one. “So I was just coming with an open mind to see where 25 April 2018 it’s going to push me. So what it gave me, it gave me the confidence to at least have some clear steps now, about what “Business Planning to follow if I want to do a business plan. “So I know where to start and I know what it should give me & Strategy” with Dave Millett at the end and I also know that it’s not a set-in-stone thing, so that I should be working on it constantly and repeat the process every six months usually, so that gives me the confidence of actually not being scared of getting figures together and going and talking to professional people, if need be.”

17 April 2018 “Creating Websites that Work” with Nicola Ryall “I learned a lot today – it’s been a really different day today. The terms that our web designers, and our graphic designers use, I’m learning today here it’s a completely different thing what they talk and what we learned here today [...] “[For example] We were just touching down on branding there, and blogging. And I found out that WordPress doesn’t support Magento, and what I’ve been told is that they do support that, so I’m just going to ask that question to our graphic designers [...] “This is what I learned today – also it’s about SEO, what we learned today is completely different. It’s easy to do, but it’s just tricky, and time-consuming. You just need to spend some time on it...”
