Line Officers and Block Officers are an important part of the National Matches, they keep the line safe.

There is no better way to get involved with your NRA, than volunteering. I cannot tell you how many times I hear, “How can I get involved?”, “I want to do more to help our 2nd Amendment rights.” This is your NRA, and there a many different ways to get involved and help support it. Please take a look below at the events that need your support: Step 1: Fill out an application to volunteer for the NRA Event of your choice available here: National Matches | Port Clinton, OH | July & August More than 4,000 competitors come to the NRA National Rifle & Pistol Matches at Camp Perry, Ohio, each year, so there is a tremendous need for volunteers to run this prestigious and historical competition. This is a National Championship event for Pistol, Smallbore, and Highpower competitors. Experienced RSOs and CROs welcome but not necessary, we train you! General Help | Everywhere, USA | Year-round There are many other competitive shooting events, local gun shows, and general office/event tasks that we need your help with. If you have a busy schedule and have to make your commitments on a case-by-case basis, or you just are not ready to sign up now, but want to be included as opportunities become available, please fill out our General Volunteer Application. This information is strictly for NRA volunteer purposes only, and we only contact you using your preferred method, and only when opportunities become available that fit your preferences. NRA Annual Meeting of Members & Exhibits | Location Varies Annually | Spring Volunteers are needed in a wide variety of activities including the NRA Store, Membership Services, the Airgun Range, Firearms Inspectors and many others. The store requires lots of manpower; especially needed are volunteers who have cashier experience.

“Deep In The Heart Of Texas” Back To Houston 2013 Gayle Carter-Cook, NRA Annual Meeting Volunteer Coordinator

The 2013 NRA Annual Meetings & Exhibits in Houston, Texas next May (1 – 5) will provide fun and fellowship as thousands of NRA members come together to celebrate their association. This Annual Meeting will be another unqualified success due, in great part, to the NRA volunteers. Each year volunteers are asked to do more and more, and each year they continue to answer the call to give their time and experience to their organization. Members that have volunteered in the past will tell you that it is one of their most satisfying and enjoyable experiences. Volunteers assist NRA staff in a wide variety of activities and functions at the Annual Meeting. Some examples of the venues and tasks are: • Membership Registration – One of the busiest areas. In addition to enrolling new members, volunteers also assist current members with renewals, upgrades, address changes, etc. • NRA Store – Features a large variety of NRA “fraternal” items, plus merchandise unique to the Annual Meeting City. This venue needs clerks, cashiers, baggers and shelf stockers.

• NRA Air Gun Range – A volunteer must be a Certified Instructor or Certified RSO to volunteer in this popular area. This is fun for the participants and the instructors! • Eddie Eagle – Along with our giant Eddie Eagle mascot, volunteers help get the message out.

• Advancement Office – A new volunteer opportunity this year. Help with event logistics; some are away from the main meeting location. • There are many more volunteer areas listed on the Volunteer Registration Form and detailed venue letter. Close to 400 volunteers worked more than 4700 hours at last year’s Annual Meeting in St. Louis; Houston will be bigger. NRA members are the lifeblood of the organization. Members that volunteer help the organization move forward with programs and contact with the general public. Hartsocks Retire

Beth Epley, NRA Tournament Resources

Many of you may know the Hartsocks. They have been a mainstay at the Camp Perry National Matches for over 30 years each. John and Jim Hartsock always arrived to the Matches early to set up the electrical equipment out on the range. They saved the NRA thousands of dollars in equipment and fees, and helped keep the Matches running smoothly. These brothers are a great team and brought extraordinary leadership skills to the ranges, in Pistol and Highpower phases. From Left: Larry Mead, Jim Hartsock, John Hartsock, and Dennis Willing

We cannot thank you enough for your tireless efforts these many years! On behalf of myself and the entire NRA staff, we wish you all the best in your retirement and future endeavors!

NRA Action Pistol Championships / Bianchi Cup Damien Orsinger, Pistol Championship Coordinator Dear Bianchi Cup Volunteer Staff,

2011 Bianchi Cup (Action Pistol Championships) Volunteer Staff

On behalf of Tom Hughes, National Pistol Manager, myself and the entire NRA Competitive Shooting Division, THANK YOU!!! The time and dedication all of you have put into helping run the 2011 MidwayUSA & NRA Bianchi Cup, is what makes this match run in the professional manner John Bianchi envisioned when he started this match with Ray Chapman, back in 1979. The combined wealth of knowledge all of you bring to the Cup each year is only surpassed by the love you obviously have for the sport of Action Pistol. With people like John Gordon, Pat Cooper, Beth Cowgill, the De Krygers, the Heddesheimers and the Koenigs, and all of you, this Match is destined to continue growing, and running smoother, every year. For the past, present and future, thank you! •
