• The new Regina Bypass cost 5 times more than the original budget estimate. • It fails to serve much of the purpose for which it was intended. • It has been routed through recently acquired land whose price exploded to over 20 times its real value is just 3 years. • Our provincial and municipal governments both sold and repurchased these lands during that same time period paying one developer 20 times more for the land they sold him three years prior. • As a result, a small number of developers and speculators have experienced significant windfall profits as much as 80 times more than existing land owners. • Coincidentally, these individuals were either former employees of related government agencies or had prior business relationships with elected officials responsible for overseeing this project. • Several existing land owners were unequally dealt with as their properties were annexed or expropriated to accommodate a hastily and radically changed Regina Bypass plan, that was influenced by developers. • Most of the resulting costs for this project consist of pure profit for a select few individuals & the Bypass Contractor from France. • A large and unnecessary debt has now been transferred to us and to our descendants. • The 2 Billion Dollar expense + 6% PST on Construction and Service Industries has sent us spiraling into a recession.
