My name is Debbie-Ann Francis and I am a senior International Communications and Spanish major. When I was about seven years old, I had my first Spanish class. Even though I couldn’t pronounce anything well, I enjoyed the language so much that I wanted to learn more. Now, I am in Argentina with the Adventist Colleges Abroad program, living out my childhood dream to learn Spanish! I have been able to see God move in mighty ways that I could never have imagined. God allowed me to receive the Benjamin A. Gilman Scholarship, a U.S. Department of State scholarship that has winners from universities such as NYU, Columbia, Brown, and many other prestigious schools. When I received the scholarship, I was the only winner from an Adventist university. That alone was a testament of God’s workings.

I have been able to visit Peru, Brazil, and Uruguay. I have met wonderful people here in Argentina. This year’s experience has shown me that when we put our lives in God’s hands, He can do “exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think” (Ephesians 3:20). 1. Q: A:
Hi. I am a transfer student, and will be changing my major from Nutrition to Communication. How can I make the Communication program work for me so I do not lose out on the credits I have already taken?
We have 11 different tracks or ways of planning a program suitable for you. The “emphasis” tracks allow for individualizing a student’s program. Communication is interdisciplinary by nature, which means that combinations of courses can be useful for a student to accomplish his or her career and academic goals. Make an appointment so we can discuss these plans and see how your program can be arranged.
