In the fall of this year, the Colorado State Board of Accountancy will be conducting CPE audits for the 2016 - 2017 CPE year. Certificate holders are responsible for accurate reporting and documentation of all CPE hours completed and must retain documentation for a minimum of 5 years from the end of the year in which the CPE was completed. Documentation must be submitted to the Board upon request. IF YOU ARE AN ACTIVE CERTIFICATE HOLDER, PLEASE USE THIS CHECKLIST TO MAKE SURE YOU ARE COMPLIANT: ☐ I have 80 hours of CPE that includes 4 hours of ethics. ☐ The credit I am claiming is no more than 20% in the personal development field of study. ☐ The credit I am claiming is no more than 50% for teaching, publishing articles, or books. ☐ I have certificates of completion from the programs that I participated in and they include the following required information: ☐ Name and contact information of CPE program sponsor ☐ My name ☐ Title of program ☐ Field of Study ☐ Date(s) the program was offered or completed ☐ Location of program, if applicable

Section 7.3 of the State Board of Accountancy’s Rules lists the acceptable field of studies for your reference. Additionally, section 7.4 provides further details on rules to claim CPE credit for teaching, panel presentations, publishing, college coursework, and specialized programs.
