Who is Kenan Gilmore? A Cleavester Brooks Interview

The Author Cleavester: What is the new book His Love, My Pain about? Kenan: This book is about a couple who's been through thick and thin together but all was held together by Keith's sacrifice. Basically, he wasn't being satisfied by his long time lover, Chris. They talked things over being that Keith was always honest and decided that it would be ok for Keith to try the "buddy" system. After a few tries, Keith finds the one that takes him there but he 4

gives Keith more than he expected. Expect some crazy shit going on but at the same time, expect to see how true love can survive any of the unexpected. Cleavester: When did you start it? Kenan: I started it just after the release of Is This Him?. I couldn't stop the voices and they were telling me to make this one more dramatic, more realistic, sexier and even more unpredictable than Is This Him? Cleavester: What is the book Is This Him about? Kenan: Is This Him was a book full of secrets to the lead character, Camron's destiny. He thought he was someone that he wasn't and during a trip to ATL he meets Carlos who not only shows him his future but shows him his past. This one was a mixture of suspense leading to sci-fi. Some spicy sci-fi. But the secrets originated from Camron's parents but when the truth came out, there was all types of hell to break lose but the family's power and bond never bent and with the addition of Carlos, they ultimately kick ass. Cleavester: How much time do you spend writing? Kenan: Well, I can say that if I'm not writing, I'm playing stories through my mind. When the voices start, you can't stop them and if they do so happen to stop on their own, you are so captivated that it becomes a memory that you can put to paper. Damn, I hope that doesn't make me sound crazy. Cleavester: Where do you get your idea's from? Kenan: I've never really started with an initial idea... Something usually happens or it could be while I'm driving that something hits me and before I know it, the story starts to unfold and the voices start. Cleavester: Will there be a follow- up book to Is This Him? Kenan: Yes. Cleavester: What area do you want to expand into in the future?

Kenan: A few different areas, I would love to host a show or something like the black and gay version of The View because I tend to be political and have a lot of opinions. I would love to do more modeling, maybe even pull a Kim Zolciak with a song and definitely acting.

Life Cleavester: Who is Kenan Gilmore? Kenan: A one stop shop. Cleavester: Where are you from? Kenan: I'm from Memphis, Tn. I relocated to Chicago 6 months ago. Cleavester: What was life like growing up? Kenan: Well, it wasn't all roses and walks in the park but my family remained as close as possible. I think that should be separate interview altogether. Too much to be said. I've been thinking of an autobiography. Cleavester: What did you want to be growing up? Kenan: I wanted to be famous. I didn't think about my talents or how it was going to happen but I wanted that or to be a computer programmer. Cleavester: Which talent would you most like to have that you don't have? Kenan: Well, I can't think of any. I'm pretty satisfied with my current ones. I would like to perfect the ones that I have.

TRI Richard A Cleavester Brooks Interview Cleavester: Hello Richard, How are you doing? Richard Charlton Jones: I'm doing great. The month of June is doubly exciting because I will be celebrating my birthday and the release of my second novel, TRI.

The Author Cleavester: What is the new book TRI about? RCJ : TRI (City Stone Publishing ISBN: 978-0-9823879-2-4) on a twisted love affair and stolen steamy subterfuge between Tierre, Rajah, and Inanna. They all live borrowed lives while fighting to find real love, as each hides secrets and lies, from themselves and one another. The TRI-angle of San Diego sinners finds their relationships shattered by unexpected events. Rajah and Inanna are both seduced by the same emotionally insecure and physically appealing Tierre. I want readers to dive into the sexy and seductive nightlife of San Diego and Tijuana, Mexico as bitchy dialogue, and fight scenes brings TRI to life. At its heart and soul, TRI is a character study, giving the reader strong, but flawed characters whose problems they can identify with. Love can be warm and wonderful as well as wicked and evil. Cleavester: When did you start it? RCJ : I began TRI shortly before I graduated from Morehouse College with a degree in English. I actually had at least five chapters completed which I offered for critique to my creative writing course. I took that feedback and built upon the strengths of my classmates enjoyed about the character development. Cleavester: How much time do you spend writing? RCJ : I usually set aside at least three hours of time to write. I then take a break, run errands, catch up on The Young and the Restless, watch The First 48, or what's on the Investigation Discovery Channel or The Africa Channel, and write some more for another three hours. Every day, including weekends.

Cleavester: Where do you get your idea's from? RCJ : I get my ideas from what I witness on the bus and train; conversations overheard when people are using their cell phones; certainly observing people going about their daily routines.

Cleavester: What did you want to be growing up? RCJ : I always knew it would have to do with words and books. I've written erotic fiction for various Internet websites, was a staff writer for Cleavester: Will there be a follow up book to the San Diego Voice & Viewpoint, did corpoTRI? rate communications for Delta Air Lines, and RCJ : There will not be a follow-up to TRI. Mel B gets New Show!

Ex-Spice Girl, (and former girlfriend of Eddie Murphy now turned baby momma) Mel B will star in a new documentary styled comedy show for The Style Network titled The Mel B Project (the name could change later) and we hear that is slated to premiere Labor Day weekend. The show will follow the star along with her new husband and two daughters as she goes from live shows to acting stints, and what life is like after her run on ABC’s Dancing With The Stars. Gary Coleman Dead at 42

The former Diff’rent Strokes star, was hospitalized after a fall earlier this week, and was in a coma on life support with a brain hemorrhage, according to his manager. Coleman, 42, suffered the injury in his Utah home on Wednesday and was taken to a local hospital for treatment, manager John Alcantar said in a statement Friday. Coleman was then transferred to the ICU at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center for further tests and treatment. And then, things took a bad turn. “As of mid-morning on May 27, Mr. Coleman was conscious and lucid,” said Alcantar. “By early afternoon, Mr. Coleman was slipping in and out of consciousness and his condition worsened.

In a sad coda to his statement, Alcantar says that despite Coleman’s recent history of health problems and personal issues, “he always has had fond memories of being an entertainer and appreciates his fans for all their support over the years. Omarosa Gets Reality Show

TV One plans to launch a new reality series titled Donald J. Trump Presents The Ultimate Merger with a 90-minute episode on June 17th at 9PM. The series, featuring former The Apprentice cast member Omarosa Manigault-Stallworth searching for her perfect mate will have its opening episode repeated on June 17th at midnight. The eight-episode reality series was created by Donald J. Trump and Trump Productions President Andy Litinsky and it is produced by Trump Productions LLC and Juma Entertainment. Paula Patton is Jumping The Broom

Paula Patton, (who is probably now best known for her roles in the films Precious and in Just Wright) is in negotiations to star in the new wedding-themed black comedy film titled Jumping the Broom. We hear the film is slated to start shooting this summer in Nova Scotia. The film, written by Arlene Gibbs and Elizabeth Hunter, follows the clash of two black families from opposite ends of the socioeconomic background at a weekend wedding in Martha’s Vineyard. We hear that Patton would play the female lead of the wealthy family. We hear Bishop T.D. Jakes, Curtis Wallace, Tracey Edmonds, Glendon Palmer and Elizabeth Hunter are producing the film, and so far, no other actors are attached but offers have been sent out and no one has signed on yet.
