HEAD COACH WILL WADE - Head Coach Will Wade is 23-20 in his second season as a head coach. He is 0-1 against Northern Kentucky. - Wade is 16-3 at home, 6-15 away and 1-2 in neutral site contests in his career. - Wade is 13-4 in SoCon contests, 8-1 at home, 5-3 away. - Wade is a 2005 graduate of Clemson. He has worked with current collegiate head coaches Larry Shyatt (Wyoming), Oliver Purnell (DePaul), Tommy Amaker (Harvard) and Shaka Smart (VCU) at Clemson, Harvard and VCU, respectively. - Wade’s staff includes a former head coach, Wes Long (Queens, 2009-13), former Mocs standout Casey Long (2004-07) and Brooks Savage. Savage was the Director of Basketball Ops a season ago before his promotion. Alex Wharton filled that spot with Jordan Clark (Graduate Manager), Trey Draper (Graduate Manager) and Antonio Stabler (Video Coordinator) rounding out the staff.

FOR STARTERS - Chattanooga is looking to win its third straight for the first time this season. - The quartet of Casey Jones, Justin Tuoyo, Ronrico White and Greg Pryor account for 58.1 percent (409 of 704) of the Mocs scoring output. - It’s a balanced attack with the four ranging from 9.2 to 12.8 points per game. - After allowing 86 points to Georgia, the Mocs defense surrendered 98 points in the last two games including 48 at The Citadel. It was the second time this season (Robert Morris, 46) UTC limited a DI opponent to fewer than 50 points. - Tuoyo paces the SoCon in blocks (3.3/gm). He has nine multi-block games in 10 total contests this season. His six against Coastal Carolina and last Thursday at The Citadel is his career high. - Pryor had a career-high six steals in last Monday’s win and two more at The Citadel on Thursday. He ranks seventh in the SoCon averaging 1.8 per game. - There are a trio of Mocs ranked among the league leaders in 3pt percentage. Eric Robertson is seventh in the SoCon in 3pt percentage at 45.2 percent (14-31). Pryor is 11th at 42.4 percent (14-33), while White checks in at 40.4 percent (19-47). White is also 15th in 3pt made per game (1.9).

STATS STAT! - Tuoyo has 26 blocks over the last six games (4.3/ gm). Four of those games included four or more (CCU, KSU, Montreat, The Citadel), while the other two (Georgia and Robert Morris) he had three. - White has just three turnovers in his last six games (171 minutes). That’s good for a 5.7-to-1 assist-toturnover ratio. - Robertson is on a hot streak from long range making six of his last 10 including last Monday’s four-for-six performance. No UTC coach or player is available to the media prior to gametime.

POSTGAME PROCEDURES

The UTC locker room is closed. For home games, following a 10-minute “cooling off“ period, Wade comes to the media room first followed by visiting team coach (if requested). Selected Mocs follow the visiting coach. Visiting player availability and locker room accessibility depends on that team’s procedures.

2014-15 CHATTANOOGA BASKETBALL WHAT’S IN A NAME? What’s in a name? Depends on who you ask, but as far as the references to the Mocs, the official school name is the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. The preferred name is simply Chattanooga, while the abbreviated form is UTC. There is no hyphenated version (i.e. UT-Chatt, Tenn.-Chatt, Tennessee-Chatt, UT Chatt, etc.). The nickname is simply Mocs. For more information on the unique nickname, please see page 24 of the media guide. EARLY SIGNEES - Austin Donaldson: 6’1” point guard from Jonesboro (GA) High School. Considered one of the top point guards in the state of Georgia, he led Dan Maehlman’s Cardinals to the Class 4A state title in his first season as a starter. He averaged 8.4 points, 4.4 rebounds and 3.9 assists per game. He chose Chattanooga over Sun Belt Conference member Troy. He was ranked No. 8 overall in Georgia by bigshots. net just ahead of signees for Xavier, Cincinnati, Mississippi State and Tennessee. - Trey Kalina: 6’11” post from North Cobb Christian (GA). Plays for Greg Matta, brother of Ohio State coach Thad Matta. A three-star prospect per future150.com, he ranks as No. 37 nationally at his position, 11th-best overall in Georgia. He averaged 8.7 points, 7.6 rebounds and 2.6 blocks per game for a 21-9 Eagles team in 2013-14. He chose Chattanooga after visits to LaSalle, Appalachian State and Liberty. - Lamarcus Lee: 6’2” combo guard from Scotlandville Magnet (Baton Rouge, La.). He is the No. 15 prospect by NOLA.com/Times-Picayune. His Hornets are trying to reach a sixth straight Class 5A championship game under coach Carlos Sample. The Hornets won it all in 2012 and 2013. He reportedly received offers from VCU and South Alabama and is a two-star wing according to verbalcommits.com. - ZaQwaun Matthews: 6’4” combo guard from Myers Park High School (Charlotte, N.C.). He averaged 15.3 points and 6.7 rebounds per contest for coach Wes Hepler’s Mustangs who reached the first round of the state tournament. He decided on the Mocs over interest from Richmond, Charlotte and East Carolina. He earned Southwestern 4A All-Conference from the Charlotte Observer in 2014.

That’s the most since 18 in 2012-13. - Georgia’s visit on December 2 was the first SEC opponent in McKenzie Arena since Tennessee on December 4, 2007. It’s the Bulldogs first game in the Scenic City since the 1985 NIT (March 13). - There are five non-conference road games. Three of the five – Tennessee Tech (11/22), Kennesaw State (11/29) and Middle Tennessee (12/19) – are fewer than 115 miles from campus. - Of the non-conference schools, Middle Tennessee is the most frequent opponent as this year is the 61st meeting. UTC leads 32-28. - Hiwassee, Kennesaw State, Georgia, Montreat, Northern Kentucky and UAB return to the schedule from last season. - It has been more than 10 years since the Mocs have faced either Tennessee Tech or Lipscomb. The last time the Golden Eagles crossed paths with the Mocs was Nov. 11, 2001 (13 years). The most recent meeting with the Bison was Dec. 29, 2002 (12). - UAB is back in town for the first occasion since December 16, 1997. - The SoCon is a 10-team league after all the realignment shuffle.
