CONTROLLI PERIODICI DELLA VISTA: PERCHE’ SONO IMPORTANTI?

PERIODIC VISION CHECKUPS: WHY ARE THEY IMPORTANT?

Per mantenere in buono stato la salute della vista dei più giovani, è buona norma effettuare controlli visivi periodici per individuare e correggere precocemente eventuali difetti, evitando una riduzione della vista del bambino.

Dal 4° fino al 6° anno di età, il controllo visivo andrebbe ripetuto ogni anno e dal 7° fino al 12° anno ogni 2. Si consiglia comunque un controllo prima dell’inizio di ogni anno scolastico in quanto l’efficienza visiva contribuisce al buon rendimento nello studio.

Una particolare attenzione va posta durante l’ottavo anno di età dove si può presentare la cosiddetta miopia scolare che può essere trattata con lenti e montature idonee per prevenirne la progressione nel tempo.

In order to maintain the visual health of young people it is a good idea to carry out periodic checks to detect and correct any defects at an early stage, to avoid a reduction in the sight of the child. From the age of 4 to 6 years the visual test should be repeated every year, and from 7 to 12 years every 2 years, although it is recommended that a check should be made before the start of each school year as improved sight can contribute to better study and performance. Special attention should be paid to myopia by the eighth year of school.
