City of Cape Town libraries will host career expos

As part of the City's Inclusive Economic Growth Strategy, City of Cape Town libraries will host career expos to assist learners, patrons, unemployed youth, and those interested in making an informed career choice 'The first round of career expos took place in March, and I was encouraged to see so many young people taking hold of the opportunity for direction to a successful future In May, we are hosting eight more expos, with a few taking place outside of the library buildings 'It is an exciting way to discover your future career and get the information you need to ensure you're on track towards it. These expos are about more than just free career advice; you're exposed to occupations you may not have been aware of and have an opportunity to network and practice your interview skills,' said the City's Mayoral Committee Member for Community Services and Health, Councillor Patricia van der Ross Partnering with external stakeholders, libraries remain an important vehicle for obtaining career information and will bring all the necessary role players together under one roof to get younger patrons excited about choosing a career 'I want to encourage learners to attend these expos Arm yourself with the information you need to make the best possible career choice

The Tygerberg Children's Choir, has been named Best Children's Choir

One of Cape Town’s music exports, the Tygerberg Children's Choir, has been named Best Children's Choir attheHullInternationalChoir Competition 2023 in the United Kingdom. The choir's publicist says the acclaimed and popular group also came second in the category of Sacred Choral Music A' Cappella and subsequently bagged two gold diplomas at the contest. The latest accolades mean that the Tygerberg Children's Choir has now qualified to perform at the next World Choir Games, the Championship Competition in New Zealand next year. Twenty-seven choirsfromtencountriestook part in this year's Hull Choir CompetitionintheUK.
