Durbanville residents urged to be vigilant

The Durbanville police are cautioning residents in the area to remain vigilant after several people were mugged on Langeberg Road Captain Marchell Rhode, Durbanville police spokesperson, says the department is aware of robberiesandattacksonthose who walk home near Morningstar and Wellway Park ‘We are monitoring the situation and will put measures in place. We urge people not to walk late at night from the pubs or down the main roads in Morningstar,especiallyduring load shedding’ The media reports that Morningstar’s neighbourhood watch had to assist two men who were robbed in the area during loadshedding on May 23 ‘I was at my house at the time whenmyhusbandandIheard someone screaming for help,’ saysRitaManuel,amemberof the neighbourhood watch group ‘Werushedoutsideand saw two guys in the street; one was lying in the road and the other was screaming for help A lot of the neighbours came outside to help them’ Sheaddedthatoneofthemen was badly beaten, and both were robbed of their cell phones and wallets The pair had been walking home from a pub in Durbanville when they were attacked and allegedly assaulted on LangebergRoad
