Above: The long trip south for Aberdeenshire rider Zoe Florence (20) was made all the more worthwhile having enjoyed a fantastic victory in the Petplan Equine Novice Silver U21 Area Festival Championship. Partnered by her talented six-year-old gelding, Sweet Madness – a British-bred son of the prolific sire Negro - she delivered a winning performance to take the win on 69.51%. They are pictured with Charlotte Gibbs from Petplan.

Below: Gabriella Kozersky with Slieve Rushen Frank who soared above the rest of the class with a score of 72.15% in the Petplan Equine Novice Bronze U21 Championship. The combination are coached by Diane Thurman-Baker, who Gabriella credited for encouraging and progressing her through the levels, and also compete in working hunter classes and event.

Right: It was a close-fought affair in the Petplan Equine Preliminary Silver with just half a mark separating the top two placings; Lily Carson would be the rider to come out on top, excelling with Red Valentino SCS to score 71.46%. Lily (23), from Derbyshire, is supported by owner and coach Sue Carson along with trainer Paul Fielder.

Below: Brackley-based eventing combination Holly Jessett and Lombard Lad turned their hooves to dressage over the winter and completed their Petplan Equine Area Festival journey with an emphatic win in the Preliminary Bronze Championship, the largest of the classes at Hartpury with no fewer than 44 starters. The winning score was a super 72.15%, to top a competitive field where the first seven placed combinations scored over 70%.
