ENGAGE from Erin

My fiancé Tad and I went leaf peeping in New England for a long weekend in October. One of the days was spent hiking, which included a hike up to an overlook called Cathedral Ledge in New Hampshire.

After hiking for a little over an hour, we reached the top and enjoyed the view. New England in the fall has been on my bucketlist forever and I was so grateful to finally be experiencing it, thinking it just couldn’t get any better! After we had been up there awhile, we hugged and enjoyed another good look at all the trees. Tad turned to me and said, ”So I’ve been thinking… About the perfect place to propose to you.” and I lost it. Tears down my face, the happiest cry I’d ever had! (I had also never been happier that I chose not to wear mascara that day). I was so overcome with emotion that when he got down on his knee, I got down with him. I just couldn’t be close enough! There was no hesitation in my answer when he asked if I’d marry him.

After we FaceTimed our families and our friends from the top of the mountain, we got in the car to drive along the scenic Kancamangus Highway. Tad played a song he had written for me and I cried all over again. I can’t wait to dance to it at our wedding. I’d been dreaming of this day since I was little, like lots of girls do. Tad exceeded every single expectation I ever had. I can’t wait to be his wife!
