We know you’re crazy busy choosing invitations, florists, bridesmaid dresses, and a honeymoon location, but don’t neglect one of the most important tasks of all- getting yourself looking and feeling great! More pictures will be taken of you on your wedding day than any other day of your life. So, how do you ensure you’ll be at your absolute best? First, keep in mind that how you look on your wedding day begins before that morning. Trust us, the results will be well worth it- plus taking a break from all those to-dos for a workout, or some pre-wedding pampering will help keep you sane.

If you’re not much of a makeup person, and even if you are, and no matter how good you are, if you can fit it into your budget, you should hire a professional makeup artist and hairstylist for your wedding day. The best part... we have done the hard work for you and compiled the best in the area!

TRIAL RUNS

Once you’ve booked your beauty professionals, schedule at least one trial run for wedding-day hair and/or makeup to test out different possibilities. Many professionals will charge a trial-run fee and then a separate wedding-day fee. Others will charge one price upfront and include a free trial run as part of the package. During your trial session, you will experiment with different hair and makeup looks. Before you arrive, gather pictures from magazines and social media to show the artist. Be sure to bring your earrings, veil, and headpiece to decide how they’ll fit with your look!

You want to see various skin tones, ages, and hair types represented in their portfolio. This will ensure that the vendor is skilled enough to meet the needs of EVERYONE in your bridal party.

WILL THEY TRAVEL TO YOUR LOCATION? ARE THERE FEES ASSOCIATED WITH TRAVEL? If you are planning to get ready at your venue, will your beauty team travel to you? Also, ask about the costs associated with this.

DOES YOUR BEAUTY VENDOR OFFER A BRIDAL TRIAL? If a trial is offered, specify if this is a separate cost or included with the package.

DOES THE MAKEUP ARTIST OFFER BOTH AIRBRUSH & TRADITIONAL MAKEUP? If airbrush makeup is your preference, make sure your makeup artist is skilled in this area. Read reviews and view their work.

WHAT IS YOUR BEAUTY VENDOR’S POLICY FOR SANITATION AND COVID-19 PREVENTION? If the spread of germs and illness is a concern, discuss the sanitation procedures with your vendor. If you have specific things you would like implemented (artists wear masks, artists wear gloves, artists use throw-away tools), please specify.

WHAT IS YOUR BEAUTY VENDOR’S POLICY FOR DAY-OF WEDDING ADD-ONS? Sometimes the members of bridal parties decide to join in on the fun at the last minute. Discuss with your vendor what their policy is about day-of-ceremony service add-ons.
