Porcelain handcraft jewels from 3D print

What do you get when you put handcraft and 3D print together?

1- 3D Model Let’s start from a standard 3D model. The Makerbot bunny, the famous 3D print.

2- 3D Print The 3D print is used as a prototype and is the result of many changes done on the original 3D model due to the progressive knowledge of the final material of production, the porcelain.

3- Mold To realize the porcelain object it’s necessary to make a mold in plaster cast, the form of the mold is due to the form of the object to produce.

4- Porcelain

The raw porcelain once removed from the mold is retouched by hand and ovened. In the case of an enamelled product the object needs to be ovened two times. The first time to solidify the second to make the enamel crystallize.

5- The Jewel

The creation of the object is just the beginning of a new adventure, many other objects apart from the bunny have come to life in the same way, have a look at fb.com/blancharme.
