Mark is an experienced captain with extensive expertise in both private and charter operations aboard sailing and motor vessels of up to 40m. Holding the titles of AEC Engineer and a PADI Divemaster and Instructor, Mark blends his maritime skills with engineering know-how in an effortless manner. In his previous role as Captain aboard the CNB 76 CLOUDY NIGHT, he spearheaded the planning, setup, and execution of a worldwide cruising program. Indeed, his hands-on experience and leadership were crucial in ensuring the success and seamless operation of the private vessel. Known for his adept problem-solving skills and objective approach, Mark further stands out as a reliable and resourceful professional, capable of navigating complex challenges with ease and ensuring smooth operations in diverse maritime environments.

Ben is a mature sailor with strong technical, mechanical, and electrical skills. He demonstrates a strong work ethic and personal time management skills. After having run large commercial winery sites, he has imparted many transferable skills. He managed large teams doing long hours and is therefore no stranger to pressure. Ben has always thrived in the technical side of running a manufacturing site but he also loved running the restaurant and sales side as well. He managed multiple contractors during various refits. To summarise, Ben is a proven deckhand / engineer with solid offshore sailing experience, extensive yard time and prior experience in high end service.

Job Description Mark oversees the navigation, general operations, and financial management of the vessel, as well as the well-being of both the crew and guests. He maintains the yacht’s efficient functioning at all times, ensuring strict compliance with hazard protocols and regulations. He further takes care of adhering to flag regulations, port state laws, and local regulations, managing the crew to guarantee full comprehension and compliance with the vessel’s policies. In delegating tasks and supervising the crew’s activities, he fosters teamwork and personalised growth.

Job Description Ben has the expertise required to stand in for the captain in his absence, acting in an important role for deckhand duties. He assists the captain during navigation and participates in all on-deck operations, respecting guests’ activities. He has extensive knowledge of the maintenance of sailing yachts and is responsible for the running of deck equipment and machinery.

Edward, originally from Auckland, New Zealand, grew up next to the sea. His Father owned a yacht and his brothers and Edward would therefore go fishing as much as they could. Edward looks back on it as being “a great life”. His inspiration for his career comes from these great memories and through the experience of travel and meeting other talented people. Edward has worked in restaurants and on yachts all of his professional life, spanning over 25 years. He takes great pride in his work; he is highly motivated towards completing tasks to an exceptional standard and utilizing his knowledge and passion to create an excellent dining experience. Edward’s extensive management history in the hospitality industry has honed his efficiency in both the fiscal and provisional areas of a functional and successful kitchen.

Georgia is a competent, friendly person who is an organised and has a thirst for adventure. Her love for the sea began at a young age with her family. She is very active and creative and is always an excellent asset to have on board. In addition, Georgia’s Interior Design degree gives her a keen eye for detail.

Job description As the Chef, Edward is responsible for the crew and guest meals throughout the charter, ensuring that the food is enjoyable, the interior of the yacht is clean and serviceable and that all dietary requirements are met. He is a creative cook, varying his meals to provide variety and according to the location of APOLLO 99, to have as much relevance as possible to the country being visited.

Job description Georgia is responsible for organization, management, and cleanliness of all interiors. She maintains an accurate inventory of all service items and supplies. She ensures cleaning and preparation of the vessel to the highest standards prior to all guest trips. In charge of vessel provisioning for both guests and crew, and all aspects of daily life. When guests are onboard, she ensures they are properly cared for and that all their requirements are met. She offers a particular attention to details and a polite and entertaining spirit.
