The sale will be held on-property and interfaced with Elite Livestock Auctions. It will be an open-cry auction with bull lots displayed on a screen and agents will be present to take your bids.
We will have the most up to date genetic information available on our bulls on sale day. This will be sent out via email, posted on Facebook & Elite Livestock Auctions and also available in hard-copy on sale day.
If you can’t attend on-property, you are more than welcome to bid online. Please make sure that you register at least three days prior with Elite Livestock Auctions. Intro After establishing the stud in 2013, we’ve been working towards having our own bull sale. This year is our inaugural bull sale with 30 registered , rising 18 month old bulls on offer.
Rosetta J168, the dam of Lot 12 Q65 and granddam of Lot 7 Q58, is the matriach of our herd. Every her descendants have risen to the top of the draft through her multiple daughters and grand-daughters in the herd. Q65 is a genuine stud sire prospect with style, depth and a great data set.
We pride ourselves on developing our bulls on a minimal grain diet with the objective of optimising their serving ability and longevity.
Wilcoola D153, at 13 years of age, is still breeding as good as the day we bought her. Lot 6 Q39 is a Texas Berkley son out of Wilcoola D153. Q39 is a muscular, smooth looking bull, very similar to D153’s previous calf Bellaspur Jackel J36 who won Junior Champion at Royal Melbourne Show.
Our focus at Bellaspur Angus is breeding high performance, functional cattle with great carcase. We’re very proud of these bulls and believe that they’re the product of building a strong cow herd. We have four main cow families - Quix, Rosetta, Wilcoola and Dream.
We’ve used four main sire lines in this draft to breed consistency, type and good structure. Clunes Crossing Dusty M13, Jarobee Mountaineer M166, Texas Berkley K508 and Landfall Keystone K132 have worked very well over our cows to produce bulls with a great balance of data and phenotype. The M166 calves are very sleek and long with good hindquarters. And the Dusty calves have plenty of meat and boosted data. The journey to our first bull sale has been exciting and rewarding. We have sold bulls into multiple stud and commercial programs, in a range of environments, with the common feedback that the bulls are conditioned to work and thrive in all environmnets. Inspections Welcome Prior to the Sale
Pre-sale inspections are very welcome. Please contact Brenton to arrange a day and time that is convenient for you. We’re more than happy to show people around the bulls and also the cow herd. We also have Clunes Crossing Dusty M13 available to look at. These inspections will also follow COVID-19 regulations. The bulls will also be penned at 9am on sale day for prior-inspections.
Directions
Bellaspur Angus is located half way between Violet Town and Euroa. Stay on the Hume Highway until you reach the Wilbrahams Road turn off. Drive about 3kms down this road (over the railway line) and then turn left onto Lomers Road. The sale complex will be about 1km down this road. There will also be signs on the day.
