Avocats Sans Frontières : justice for equity Founded in 1992, Avocats Sans Frontières (ASF) is an international non-governmental organization under Belgian law, whose mission is to support the creation of a just and equitable society and in which the law is at the service of groups and populations in situations of vulnerability. Its main objective is to contribute to the establishment of institutions and mechanisms allowing access to independent and impartial justice, capable of ensuring legal certainty and guaranteeing the protection and effectiveness of fundamental rights for all. It implements very diverse activities to guarantee access to justice for the most vulnerable and the establishment of legal systems capable of protecting them. ASF is committed to several areas of intervention (access to justice, international criminal justice, fight against torture, promotion of economic and social rights, defense of civil and political rights, support and protection of human rights defenders, etc.) and has permanent missions in Uganda, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Morocco, Tunisia and the Central African Republic. The EUROMED office In 2019, ASF announced the creation of a Mediterranean regional office based in Tunis during its 8th anniversary of operations in Tunisia. The added value of the regional office lies in its role in coordinating transnational influence strategies, particularly those of a Euro-Mediterranean nature. To do this, the regional office aims to strengthen North-South partnerships and launch initiatives in Europe on global development issues. Job description You are the Consortium coordinator of the multi-country project TACKLE - Promote the emergence of young activism against discrimination and structural racism in Europe, implemented in Tunisia, Morocco, Italy, France, Spain, Belgium, and Netherlands, involving 13 partners from civil society organizations and universities, among which the European Network for Clinical Legal Education (ENCLE) and European Alternatives.


Your role is essential for establishing the ways of a collective work among partners, creating a one-project-team approach among the staff, and achieving the results and specific objectives of the project. You will report to the Euromed Regional Director and maintain technical/functional links with the project operational team, Euromed regional team and the Global team in Brussels. Main responsibilities 

 

You are the main entry-point of the consortium members, you lead the establishment and the respect of the project roadmap and support the project partners in the implementation of the activities in the different countries; You are the main vis-à-vis of the donor (European Commission) and you ensure the respect of contractual commitments of ASF, including reporting, visibility and communication with the donor representatives; You strongly support the activities of campaigning and advocacy at national and European levels; You strongly contribute to the identification of new partners working in the area of racial discriminations and to their involvement in the project, including via a call for proposal and grant management; You contribute to the research strategy on the basis of identified priorities and in line with the advocacy strategy.

Profile required        

Master's degree in law, political science, sociology, anthropology, criminology, etc.; At least 5 years' professional experience in project coordination, advocacy and/or academic activities; Experience in migration policies and/or racial discrimination; Knowledge of and participation in North-South advocacy networks; Fluency in English; knowledge of French desirable; knowledge of Italian, Spanish or Arabic is an asset; Willingness to travel regularly in the countries concerned by the project; Excellent ability to work in a team, both face-to-face and remotely, in collaborative approach; Strong commitment for human rights and the fight against discriminations.

A 12-month fixed-term contract (renewable) A gross monthly salary between 3 826,49 € and 4 618,18 €, depending on the level of relevant previous experience. Opportunity to work remotely provided that the duty station is one of the cities covered by the project (Brussels, Paris, Palermo, Rome, Turin) and to negotiate part-time contract (minimum 80%) Numerous benefits: 25 days annual leave, meal vouchers (8€/day), reimbursement of transport costs, reimbursement of telephone costs and a teleworking bonus, hospitalization insurance for you and your family, group insurance.
