Biodynamic Lighting & The Circadian Rhythm Natural light has a measurable impact on our sense of wellbeing. The sun provides the fuel for all biological life on earth, with the light it provides being an important part of everyday life. Natural light is dynamic; from sunrise to sunset, it has a great impact on our sense of wellbeing. The circadian rhythm is a natural internal process which regulates the sleep/wake cycle, repeating every 24 hours. Throughout our lives, we often miss the sun’s benefits by spending a lot of our time indoors or working during the evening and at night, which is a huge challenge for our circadian rhythm. Typical artificial lighting is fixed from the moment we wake, to when we go to sleep. Tuneable White luminaires, also known as human-centric or dynamic lighting, aim to mimic natural daylight, which helps support the circadian rhythm and create the best possible conditions at work and in our homes.
Changing the light colour and intensity creates a relationship between artificial light and daylight, which has an invigorating effect. For example, this versatility enables a dining area to also be lit for communal activities and groups. Lighting scenes can also be automated or adapted via the Aurora Bluetooth app, or with wall controllers and switches.

The Otega’s diffused surface of planar light delivers uniformly lit spaces and walls, without sharp cut angles (scalloping to the walls). AOne™ Downlight Up to 100lm/W | Up to 2800lm Tuneable White colour temperature between 2700K - 6500K Supplied with a Bluetooth driver for instant local individual or group control for larger areas, this product is the ultimate Smart lighting upgrade for healthcare environments. By delivering Tuneable White planar lighting, it enables full control of colour temperature, in accordance with the time of day and residents’ activities. High levels of cool white lighting encourage residents to participate in more group activities during the day. Warmer colour temperatures are introduced in early evening, to help their body clocks prepare for sleep.
