Brand: Victoria’s Secret Products: TUBI 1, 2 and 3 Way

As an American brand, the VS store concept needed to be translated into a 230v solution suitable for Non-USA markets. The Microlights team worked directly with the branding team to interpret

the design and gain brand approval for its luminaires. The upgrade to LED technology has been implemented and stores are being rolled out in a number of areas including Europe, Middle East and

the Asia Pacific Region. Communication is managed between the brand and the franchisee to ensure on time store delivery.

In addition to having sales and customer service operations in a number of geographic hubs worldwide, Microlights has a specialist international team able to work with brands as they position themselves to take their first steps overseas and as they operate store development programmes across multiple geographies. The core skills associated with creating fantastic lighting schemes for retailers are all present as you would expect. However, since there are additional factors involved in overseas expansion, the international team has skills additional to these core competencies: • Many years of working with brands and franchisees means we are skilled at balancing this three way relationship. • Conditions in local markets mean we have to be able to modify lighting schemes in order to meet these requirements without losing the essence of the brand. • Risk factors and exchange controls may require different finance options to be used we understand these and are able to manage payment methods.

• We are aware of cultural sensitivities and the need to adapt to local conditions. • In spite of distance and increased complexities, stores still have to open on time. Brand: Hamleys Products: Locus 4, Gimbal 2 Way, Gimbal Circ

Microlights were brought in by the Hamleys store team to work with Zebra designs to create a concept to enhance the Hamleys unique brand proposition and merchandise offer including the amazing

iconic. This needed to be fun but to work in many store types and geographies. The initial scheme used mainly CMH luminaires mounted on track and in “clouds”. This has recently been upgraded

to LED to save energy and maintenance costs. It also makes the solution more robust for markets where the energy supply can be challenging due to power cuts and surges.

Brand: F & F Products: LED Flexi Strip, Moon Slim 1, Gimbal Circ

F & F asked Microlights to design a lighting concept for to be cost effective, energy efficient and deliverable worldwide. A cost saving of 50% was delivered in comparison to the trial store.

The international team and Microlights hubs have now been responsible for lighting all the F & F stores in Europe Middle East, Asia and the USA. In the USA, specific solutions were needed to

meet compliance requirements. This was achieved in conjunction with the franchisee, the brand, the Microlights engineering team and, of course, the UL test laboratories.
