About Melodie When I read about the possibility of combining my career education along with my sport surfing I said “Wow�! That is just perfect for me and exactly what I am looking for. This would be an incredible opportunity for to train and surf competitively with a top university and at the same time achieve an academic profession. Why Melodie This year I have had to put lots of my energy into finishing my high school studies and I am so happy to have received a result with an honour. I have the drive and willpower to work together with a coach who could help me to maximize both my sports and educational potential.

Why should a coach choose you for their team? My passion in life is surfing but I am realistic and know the importance of education and having a career. I am not sure whether it has been the surf that has helped me to be more disciplined, responsible, persistent and determined or if my character is like this. However I do know that last year I had the most amazing year of my life surfing in the European and World Junior champs along with filming for a surf reality TV show in Hawaii and receiving a scholarship from the ISA. How hard do you work on your goals? This year I finished the “Bachilerato” and set my goal on achieving a “Bachilerato of honour” there are only 2 given and even though I missed quite a lot of classes as a result of traveling to surf competitions and filming for the TV in Ireland, I am delighted to say that I was awarded with this title. What makes you different? I follow a physical training program and do my stretching every night, in order to stay in top form. Taking part in the WJSC (world junior surfing champs) in Panama has made me a stronger surfer in all ways: physically and mentally and motivated to challenge myself in any ways to improve. I would like to become a professional surfer but I also know that it is important a good education and to have a career that allows me to continue with my surfing. I want to excel in my surfing but I never forget about my studies. College goals? #1: Find a college where I can combine my studies & surf #2. Establish myself in my new environment #3. Study & Surf from day 1 #4. Maintain consistent high scores #5. Eat healthy and get enough sleep
